There are additional MD/RN programs available: There is a new accelerated one-year part-time program designed for Mexican and Spanish-speaking physicians. The program is a joint-venture between the Institute of California (a private healthcare staffing firm based in Los Angeles) and the University of Guanajuato. Graduates earn a BSN equivalent. In San Diego, California, there is the Welcome Back program for any foreign MD. It is a two-year, full-time commitment resulting in a California-approved ADN.
