  1. The rent is $715 for a one bed room. I have a roommate so I only pay $367. The apartment is big enough for 2 people. The first semester we lived in a studio; I belive it was $600. It was a little small for 2 people. The rent includes all utilities; however, internet service is not provided. I can pick up the wireless signal from campus sometimes; but it is not dependable. I just use the computers at the library and LRC and have done fine (I am only at my apartment at night). The parking is $30 extra per month; however, we have never been charged this fee. If you live off campus you have to pay to have a parking pass which I believe is much more than the apartement parking fee. From what I have heard it is very hard to find a spot, and it is a long walk. Which regional component are you in? MrsSandman
  2. Hello, I am currently a junior at UAB. I live in University Place. It is one block from the LRC (where most of your anesthesia classes will be). The apartment is average (I think it actually used to be a hotel); however I think it is worth it to be in walking distance to classes and the Library. If you have any other questions I would love to help. Congratulations! MrsSandman
  3. Thanks so much for the info. Miller's anesthesia that you say you can get for free online. Is this the same as the 2 volume book that I have seen for $300? How do you get it online? Thank you!
  4. Can someone that is in currently in UAB's program tell me which of the recommended text you purchased and if they were all helpful. Any suggestions of other text other than the list the program gives you would also be appreciated. Thanks so much!
  5. Hello, I will be interviewing at UAB (mobile, AL regional site) on March 12th, and I am getting pre-interview jitters. Has anyone else recently interviewed with UAB. I have heard that the interviews consist of mostly personal questions rather than clinical based questions. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!
  6. How was your interview at UAB. Just wondering if it was mainly personal or clinical questions. I hope to be interviewing at the Mobile, AL or Jackson, MS site within the next few weeks. Interview letters go out next week. Good luck! and congrats on acceptance to Samford!!
  7. I too am only applying at UAB and yes I have been called crazy. But this is where I really want to go; however, if I don't get in this year then I will probably apply to LSU next year as well as reapply to UAB. So since you got your interview letter last week when will you be interviewing? Just wondering how much time because I have heard that sometimes it is a week.
  8. Hello, I am anxiously waiting on an interview letter for UAB. Which clinical site did you choose? I was told that the letters will not go out until January for the Mobile, Al and Jackson, MS sites.

  10. Hello, to all! Can someone explain why a person in A. fib with ventricular response of 120 beat/min cannot have PVC's. I had a patient last night in this situation and they had what appeared to be a 6 beat run of V-tach; however, I was told that a person in A. Fib can not have PVC's. Thanks in advance!
