Yea I figured something changed, but it still just seems like there are so many mixed reviews. What I can conclude is that everyone makes it to the credit card page and it must be fairly recent, within the last year because the you tube videos I've seen are about a year ago showing that popup before the cc page. Some of the forums are saying that they will charge your card even if you pass...and some say no they won't...just too much information. :-/

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to share my PVT experience.I took the Nclex at the end of September 2014. Let me tell you, the cc trick sent me into an unnecessary depression for 3 days. Although I could've checked my results after 48 hrs, I had convinced myself that I had failed and didn't want to check, my study buddy encouraged me to.Thanks study buddy:-) But before I listened to him, I did the PVT and it sent me directly to the credit card page, and I was mortified. There are a ton of videos on Youtube that show a pop up before getting to the credit card page, so when I didn't see the pop up, I was devastated. I never actually entered my information bc the videos I had seen didn't have to enter their information prior to getting the pop up. I do have a friend who entered her credit card information and it charged her card and her results did come back as failing, but I don't think that's sufficient evidence. After 3 days I checked my quick results and saw that I had indeed passed. I took a screen shot of that sucker and mass text messaged it to people literally all over the country as if I was announcing a new bundle of joy. :-) Bottom line: wait for the quick results if available. The PVT will just drive you crazy. The actual Nclex, now that was a whole separate story. I think I'll put that in another post:-) Any questions, please feel free to ask:-) Special K

Hey Med Assistant 22 I'm not sure if they have a limit on how many times you can take a pre req in order to be considered, good question though. I think they may but you should go verify. I would go to the 2nd floor in the A building and just ask, the very nice woman at the front desk would probably know the answer.It's the only big office on that floor with a secretary, same floor as the cafeteria.And they are open till about 5ish sometimes 6. But just a few words, I just finished my first semester of the program, the program is not very forgiving of what's happening in life outside the program. They want the program as your top priority and they make it very clear. If you are having a hard time focusing with pre reqs, it only gets worse in the program, much worse. I can't stress how much worse lol. I don't condone quitting, but look into what you want and gauge whether you can put in the work and focus realistically. The pre reqs take a lot of focus, and the program takes 3 times as much focus.:-)

Hello MrsComboCurlz:-)Thank you! Sure! My nln score composite was 133.It put me in the 93rd percentile. I believe you need at least a 100 but that doesn't make you very competitive. My gpa was a 3.7 almost a 3.8 cumulative. I did well in all my science classes which I believe they take a good look at.The program is going well for me, just finished my first semester with an A- in fundamentals, Yay! It was a ton of work! Yea the rumors are heavy at Medgar, but the classmates I had seem like they deserve to be there. There are hundreds of students applying for the nursing program, and they can't accept all the good ones, unfortunately. My class was the biggest class they've accepted and that was 80 students. So I believe they are trying to be as fair as possible, but they can't take everyone. Don't let the rumors worry you.Your best assets when applying are your nln, gpa, and grades in science courses. The nln practice book helps a lot :-)

Hi! I just started the nursing program at Medgar Evers this semester. I enrolled in school last year in Aug.2011. I took my pre reqs, took the nln, and was accepted the next school year which was pretty awesome! I had so many discouraging people around explaining the competition and make sure I apply other places because their gpa's were high and they couldn't get in, it's about who you know. Well, I'm proof that I didn't have to know anyone, my gpa was good, and I did decent on the nln. My first semester I took Eng 150, chem 105, and AP1. It went well. 2nd semester I took CIS 101 and AP2, and micro in the summer. That schedule seemed to work out pretty well for me, not too stressful. @school408 i dont think she means they rejected her before she applied. there are basic standards you have to meet before it goes to the next step in evaluating. someone had to start evaluating to notice the c or lower grade in chemistry. but thats the very beginning stages of evaluating and once thats not met the process stops immediately. i think her issue is the site isn't clear on what science courses cant have a c or lower, pre reqs or any science course you've taken in college. i have a bs in biology so of course i have far more science courses than whats required, but they would take all my science courses into account even though they have specific pre reqs required for the course. heres what the site says directly "[color=#333333]have no more than one prerequisite science grade lower than c+, and successfully pass the teas (test of essential academic skills) the acceptable grade for a transfer of science credits is a c+ or better."
