the problem with isu is 1. they have semesters and so you may have to wait until the classes come up. so if it is summer you may be out of luck until the fall 2. it is important to remember that you are responsible for your site and there must be a bsn preceptor 3. the college network who you must go through will most certainly make you take a few classes maybe 4-6 and so the cost for everything is around $16000 and could take 18-24 months going part-time. please let me know if you have any other options that i may have missed. i know the cc system here in cal is so impacted that going any other way seems mute. i am registered with excelsior however, it just seemed to me that completing all 8 modules and than having it all ride on a high stress weekend that according to so many responses often ends in one having to repeat it again as well as the now horrible reputation the program has with many employers here in northern cal seemed a bit useless.

robert-i have not ventured into the excelsior program and so i do not think i would be a great help to you right now. i have applied before the ca ruling and so i'm able to sit for the boards after i have completed all the exams . do you believe that this program is as easy or hard as going the traditional path, please elaborate? please note the link below will get you some real cpne views and do study all the post they are quite insightful. also i would love to know your view on palomar and long beach as sites to take the cpne and the scoop on them? http://www.alittlesarcasm.com/pmachine/pmachinepro2/pmachinepro/archives.php?id=a2004071 please not that http://www.joleimeded.com/home/page2.htme is supposed to be good site for cpne training although it's in georgia. hope that helps calif. nurses, i am excited and happy to soon be realizing my rn degree and at 44 i am at a point in my life when i really want it big time.the road has been a rocky one as i went the excelsior route and like others in a non traditional program it has not been easy.for the record calif rn board has never approved of the excelsior/regents program however we have always had nln accredidation.last year the board ruled it would no longer allow excelsior grads to take the nclex exam and presently excelsior is suing the state board in hopes of overturning this peculiar ruling considering the shortage and all.i am done with all classes except for a and p and psychology and of course the dreaded cpne.would welcome all help ,advice,tips,feedback on this road-am so happy to have found an outlet to share my studies as this non traditional route can be a lonely one-has anyone recently taken the life span exam and was it easy?also am looking for the best a and p class on line and around san diego and finally where is the best place to take the cpne???am bummed that arizona is no longer an option and am now torn between palomar and long beach.could use some real insider info here-am hearing that palomar is a difficult pass?also have heard wisconsin is a good place?i am unsure and could a little help.also any study partners out there?i am in san diego and could use some help with a and p and the cpne.i hope i pass psych next week and will know soon.am done with all other classes and found the old med source study guides helpful for all the concepts classes.ok thats my life story -please respond am looking forward to hearing from all of you.thanks alot.robert
