  1. hi everyone! i've been following posts on allnurses for months and have finally joined. congrats to everyone- those of you accepted, and those of you who haven't given up. like many of you, i am an older student with a family, bs & ma in psyc, and came across the uta accelerated program, thinking it would allow me to fulfill a dream of becoming an rn while utilizing my bs. i prefer online courses (thesis in de), and still think this program is the best for my needs. i have outstanding gpa for my ma and last 60 of bs, but like some of you, i took my natural sciences years ago, and many of the grades aren't so hot. i originally applied to ut houston, but was rejected for science gpa. contacted uta a year ago and was persuaded to go for it. my hesi is decent (89), and i have completed all pre-reqs. i was very frustrated to hear i had to take tech writing with all the writing i have done for school, but of course i did it. sadly, i made a b is both pharm and path (an 89.88 in path- so close but no cigar!) which isn't great. however, i busted my tail and feel i learned a lot. i was waitlisted for the spring start up, so i went ahead and registered to retake micro to increase my gpa. i am getting very frustrated plus disappointed- i've already invested a lot of time and $, but not ready to give up. applying for fall start, and depending on how micro goes, may retake chem (oh, how i loathe that prospect!). no, i am not currently partnered, and i do not work. i brought that up to my advisor, since i read how important it is to be partnered, but how it's discovered to work due to heavy course load. so confusing! also, i live near houston and dallas is out of the question. i fear that i have wasted a lot of time and energy...but everyone's perserverence is giving me the strength i need to hang on. thanks!

  4. Papple, please do not give up. I do not know of anyone who didn't get into a program, though some had to wait longer than others:) I think your grades are very good, just a small reflection of who you are, but unfortunately one of factors univiersities base admissions on. as for HESI help, at one point I needed to access my scores again to be sent to another program, and though I cannot recall the exact process, I was able log in and resend my scores. I also saved my scores page as a PDF and was glad, because admissions never received, so I was able to email it quickly to my advisor.
