Hi, I took my accuplacer yesterday my scores were -math 268 -writing 249 reading -236 . So I didn’t pass. I just knew I was going pass ?.

Hello, I am doing pretty well. The process has been pretty smooth. I have to finalize a few things such as speak with the FASFA department, to determine how much I will be granted for a 2nd Bachelors. I'm scheduled to take the Accuplacer this Saturday @ 2pm. I'm overly nervous because I'm not a good test taker. I've been studying the material, so I hope I do well. Even if I have to take the remedial classes, I'll be just fine with that. I just need to score high enough to get accepted. I'm shooting for a score of 260 fingers crossed ?. Nighingale is the perfect school for me. I have been on this nursing journey for some time now. I did not go the scenic route, but I refuse to give up on my dreams. This school allows students who have repeated courses, to enter their program, and not turn them away from past mistakes. I'm looking forward to returning to this message board with good news!

I believe I was told November 13th do not quote me. I sent another request via facebook, I inadvertently "missed" the question where it asks me if I were in Los Angeles.

Hello! I tried adding to the facebook group ""Nightingale College California Students" but was "denied" access. I submitted my request for a second time I made sure I listed that I'm entering in the Jan 2023 cohort and is located in the Los Angeles, Ca area. Also, I have yet to take my entrance exam. I've been using the study material sent per the advisor. I've also been looking at Math, Writing, and Reading Youtube videos. Does anyone know if I need to complete the entrance exam on or before November 13th? I paid the application fee and spoke with an advisor. But I forgot to ask if the testing has to be completed by the application deadline. Terri

Thank you, for the feedback. I have applied to Entry Level Master of Nursing programs, but I was denied in the past. Nursing is impacted here in CA, so I feel I have to be open towards BSN and ADN programs. I had a phone conference yesterday with an advisor it went pretty well. A bit pricey but I'm not surprised. If I am accepted, I will definitely attend. I ordered my official transcripts and was given study links to prepare for the entrance exam. Although, I am completing my masters, I'm willing to put my masters on hold, and pursue nursing. I will go back and finish my master's in health admin because, I don't like starting things and not completing them. The reason why I am getting my masters is to strengthen my application for nursing school. But if I am able to start now why not? Why continue to prolong? I'm just ready to start right away. I am aiming for Feb 9th start date.

Hello, I am interested in applying as well. I have a BS in health science, and I have completed all my perquisites. I am almost done with my master's in health administration. While reading this thread many students are LVN's and their preparing to take the HESI exam. Is everyone required to take the HESI? Or only those who are LVN'S or students who have not taken any pre reqs?

Hello, I still have not heard anything, I have not received a interview or rejection. Hopefully, they are still sending out interviews.

I haven't received anything, no updates. I've tried calling but I'm routed to a VM. So I have to assume, I was also rejected. I looked in my spam/junk no email.

@Rouge_bbase Yes it was exactly 10 weeks. However, this was pre -covid. I applied for Fall 2020.

I was also rejected by UCLA, and USF. I have not received an invitation interview for UCI. It appears interviews were already sent out. So the next batch will be rejection letters? Or will they still be sending out more interviews? This is also my first year applying and unfortunately I am now 0-2. I am waiting to hear back from (Concordia ABSN).

No I haven't heard anything from the school either. I check EVERY DAY! LOL Maybe we will hear something next month.

@cynhart It's okay thank you so much ! I still have hope, I've read many people do not get in their first time. West Coast has a BSN program. So I would do their BSN program I am not sure if its considered Accelerated since we have a Bachelors Degree. @Sdnursinggirl619 Oh WOW! that is great! August sounds great. I will call today.

I didn't get waitlisted. I was denied unfortunately. This was my first time applying. I am highly considering West Coast they have a cohort that will start next month. Good luck to you all!!

Hey, I was considering Charles Drew but the TEAS is not waived they are allowing you to take the TEAS at home but it is proctored.

@FutureNurseTayler Welcome to the thread. I haven’t heard anything yet. We should hear something by June 24th that will be 10 weeks since the application deadline of April 15th. So fingers are still crossed and anxiety continues...... LOL best luck to you!

@Grateful Nurse That’s great you started looking into Accelerated BSN programs. It’s definitely worth a shot. oh great Thank you ! I’m glad they take FASFA! Yes, I am very grateful for my employer. That is one reason why I want to go to school locally. Although, I’m considering out of state schools, it will be more feasible I stay in Los Angeles. Once I’m done with school I have a guaranteed job in Neonatal ICU. I will just promote to RN. Ultimately, I would like to become a Neonatal Nurse practitioner.

@Grateful Nurse WOW! that was wonderful that you mom's job paid for it. Some hospitals will hire you with your ADN, but will give you X amount of time to get your BSN. I feel the BSN would be more cost effective depending where you apply. Some programs offer an Accelerated BSN program. Most MSN programs are about $100k ?. I agree MSN is definitely a great option! That is so good you have some savings for school. Well I will be depending on FASFA if the school allows it, and LOANS. I am not sure if Grad School takes FASFA? I am currently working for a hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, they will pay 5k per year. So, that will take off 10k which is better than nothing. I do hope I can get some scholarships as well. Maybe I can write Ellen DeGeneres, and get help! I am so serious. ? I do plan on still working. I have a flexible schedule I work 3 days 12hrs. I may change my schedule and work the weekends only. I think you can find a very generous Rich family ! LOL Hey we can't be choosey! Thank you! BioChem was no JOKE! I had a migraine every single day. So, I proudly take my "C". The worst I can hear is NO, but it is worth a try. I make up in other areas.?

@Grateful Nurse Thank you so much! Some schools are waiving the HESI/TEAS due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Which works in my favor to be honest. I need to confirm if Charles Drew will be waiving the exam(s) as well. Yes MSN is the way to go because you can go in so many directions! Management, NP, or stay at the bedside. I agree as time goes in hospitals will require a Masters. At this point the ADN is some what obsolete you can’t work in any hospitals. Some are sending their nurses back to school for their BSN. Yes, UCLA does require Bio Chem I took it last semester I got an “C” and that was hard. I was so stressed. It was the worst I’m not sure how I made it out that class. I’m a little worried because you need a min letter grade “B”. But hey I’m still applying !!

@GratefulFutureNurse I went to my local community colleges completed courses there. Received an Associates Degree, pursued my BS in Health Science, emphasis in patent care. 'Grand Canyon University'. USF is also my top choice. The other programs are next year. I want to start as soon as possible. @Sdnursinggirl619 WOW! that is amazing you are in the South Bay area USF will be perfect! I am in the San Fernando Valley area. But I will relocate to be closer to school. University of Hawaii was beautiful, I would not mind going to school in Hawaii.
