Nightingale College Spring 2023
Hi, I believe the exam was timed, although I'm not sure how long at this point. I tend to be a fast test taker so I didn't keep track. I had more than enough time. It was taken through examity where there is a proctor. You show them your whole room and desk set up before you take the test. You're allowed one sheet of blank paper that you can take notes with. At the end of the test they will ask you to rip the paper into pieces. I didn't study much on the accuplacer but if you look it up on Google or Youtube there are resources you can use to study. Quizlet is another good resource. There is also study resources from nightingale emailed to you by your advisor. I ended up acing the math (which is wild it's my worst subject) and reading but fell short on the writing. I will be taking the writing class because it is free and I did not want to retest for the accuplacer. It wasn't a hard exam but when I took it, I wasn't fully in the academic mindset yet. :')

Nightingale College Spring 2023
Hi! The entrance exam wasn't super hard but it did take me a while because I second guessed myself a lot. The math wasn't too difficult, it was mostly multiplying and dividing decimals, and fractions. The reading and writing portion, was pretty straight forward, where you read passages, and then correct errors in them. I was able to pass with above 260 for math and reading, however for writing I made it in the 250 range, so I will have to take a writing course. I was using the study guides they provided us in our emails and watching Youtube videos as my resources. My weak point is in math so that was mainly what I focused on. In hindsight I probably could have studied harder with writing questions.

Nightingale College Spring 2023
Hello, I am applying for Nightingale College, hoping to start on January 9th for their BSN program. So far the admission process is going smoothly for me, I am taking the entrance exam today. I'm wondering if anyone else is doing the same or are alumni from there and have anything they'd like to share about this school. ?

What are resources you used to be quicker at nursing math?
I'm currently in a pre-nursing course at an adult school. If I can manage passing the class and securing an interview, I'll be starting their VN program in January. So far, I can see that math plays a huge part in the assignments. I've been practicing the worksheets they gave me on things like military time vs. AM/PM, temperature conversions, and dosage calculations (conversions and measurements). Are there any methods, tricks, or tips on how to master these skills faster? I know most of it is considered simple math but I seem to struggle with it or am slow to solve them. If you guys can tell me what worked for you, that would be awesome!

Can I still have a future in Nursing?
Hi, here's some context to my doubts. I've wanted to get into nursing since I graduated high school but I haven't always known what path to take to get there. I started out wanting to transfer to a UC but ended up looking into community colleges because of costs. So I've finally finished my prerequisites for most RN programs but I've had to repeat Anatomy and Microbiology each. I've also had to take a W from both of them once. I've gotten a B the last time I took both classes and in Physiology. For the LVN program I applied to at my local school, these aren't requirements. It was mostly Pharmacology, General Biology, Nursing Fundamentals, and Medical Terminology. I was able to pull As and Bs for these classes and get my CNA certificate. I have two Associate Degrees in science related majors but they can't help me with a career in healthcare. My overall gpa is 2.95 and science gpa is 3.0. I have been looking to apply to RN programs as well but based on the multi-criteria point system, I don't feel like my points are competitive enough to have a chance. With all this information I'm sharing, I guess I just want some advice on what I should do from here, if I don't get accepted into any nursing programs. I live in Socal if that helps. Any feedback would be appreciated.
