Classes are not easy so it helped that my class formed study groups. That helped me a lot. I got all the help I needed from the professors. They were always willing to help in any way they can. Clinicals needed to be done in person. You had to have the hospital or clinic that you do them at fill out papers and the nurse signed for each assessment required just like normal clinicals. If I were you, I would give them a call. They would be able to answer your question as to cost and acceptance. It may have changed in the last year or so. You do have a pinning ceremony, but unfortunately, our class did not because of Covid. They continue to periodically follow up with me to make sure I have a job and I'm doing well and I don't have any questions. They also offered to update my résumé and help me with that. Yes, it is accredited.

Yes so sorry I didn't see your other question. There are benchmarks through the program and you have to take the HESI exam to move to the next level. I believe there were 3 or 4 HESI exams. (I can go back and look if you need me to)The final exam is an exit HESI then you go take your NCLEX.

Yes she was. She had NO brain activity. She died two weeks later. I guess no one person will ever know the answer if they can hear you or not. I like to think in one way they can so you can give ease if needed but on the other hand I like to think they can't because to be aware that you are in that state must be horrible. I understand there are two different conditions and states. I believe most of us do understand that.

I do talk to them. I had a close family member get into a MVA and she was considered brain dead. I spoke to her and she would move around her legs and arms when I did. You never know so I am always careful when around the pat. to make sure I am sensitive to what I say because they may hear me.

I agree with what you said. I can't believe you would let yourself feel this way. Please don't . Sometimes you have to take a step back and think about if this is how you want to feel everyday you go to work. If not you could go to the DON and talk to her, if nothing comes of it then think about going to a place where you would be happy. Nothing is worse then going to a job that makes you feel bad. Just remember if you give it your best shot and you leave in the end at least you can say you tried. If you try and it works out your problem is solved. I think you will be okay either way! Ok, I asked my supervisor and she said yes, you should report it. Few reasons~ If anyone found out after she had the baby because of blood work or whatever it could always come back to you somehow and you could be in some stuff for not reporting it. The babys health. Also it is your responsibility as a nurse to do so. Now my supervisor did say she would talk to this lady first and if nothing changed go and report it. I hope this helps a little and I am sorry about the spot you are in. That poor baby. I often wonder why women have babies if they are not going to give it a chance at a healthy life. Good luck.

You will be fine! I recently had an emergency c-section after 35 hours of labor and I was SO HAPPY with the spinal! Surg. was fine as well. I didn't feel a thing and I had a happy healthy little boy. The recovery is not fun for a week but I have to say I would take the discomfort of the recovery for a year over 10 sec. of labor! Just relax! They had to try 3 times to get my spinal in the correct way but it really did not hurt. I sat on the side of the bed with my boyfriend standing in front of me and I just held on so he could support me. Try it that way and I think you will be okay! Good luck and just remember that the spinal will be a faint memory soon!

wow, that does not sound good. i thought everyone was there to take care of all the residents. i would have asked her if someone was sitting in a pile of vomit should you get the one that has him on the group or should you clean it. where i work we all have a hall. every cna has a partner and they have one hall to do, when they are done they go help everyone else until all the work is done. the rule is whenever you leave a room you always look down the hall to make sure the hall is not lit up like it is christmas, if it is you ask the if they need your help. everyone is very good about this and us nurses while doing our med cart will answer lights as we go along. sure it is a pain to lock up your cart but we are there for the residents. most of the time they don't want anything huge. if they do, that is okay cause we are all there to help them.

Did you ask for help? Did you tell your charge nurse about it? You should not have to deal with that by yourself, talk to your charge nurse and see what she has to say about it. You guys do a GREAT job and everyone should pitch in and help when stuff like that occurs.

I don't think age has anything to do with it. I think it is that they are underpaid for the work they do. There is not always enough staff HELPING eachother. I am an LPN and if I see a CNA that is stressed I ask if they need any help or if there is anything I can do. That is why the CNA's that I work with are always respectful and have no problem.

You are not wrong at all, they should be doing their vitals. If they didn't it would be the same as you saying that you don't feel like doing your charting for the day. How are you going to deal with this?

Sorry, bad week. Not a grammar lesson just a personal opinion. I just get upset when people down cna's cause I think they do an incredible job. Don't take it to heart please.

"Ain't" and "Whoa nellie"? Please! I am just saying how it was when I was a cna. Things have changed and all I was trying to say is that CNA's needed to be respected a little more. FYI I don't need to find out what a nurse is cause I passed my exams and I am a nurse. Good luck on yours.

Before I was an LPN I took the CNA class and we were told we were nurses, not an LPN or RN but cna is considered a nurse.

All of you really are nurses? I am a nurse and without them life would be really hard. Try to treat them like people rather than treating them like they are below you and you would not consider them bad cna's. Maybe they think the same of you. My gosh ladies, you are nurses, stop acting like you are in highschool!

She is not a nurse? CNA in my eyes is a nurse. That was kind of rude of you. I have to back them up because I used to be there and if it was not for them you would be very unhappy. Lay off of them!

I have just read all of your replies and I sort of understand. I used to be a cna and I need to say that their job is not easy. They have a very difficult job in LTC. I would not take it to heart. Like I said I used to be a cna and sometimes I look back and think that was harder than LPN. I don't look or treat cna's any different than the DNS. We are all equals and no offense we are all not treated as so. I have a great relationship with my cna's and that is becasuse I get out there and help them when I have free time. I don't sit there and chat with everyone until everyone is done. It is not right. We are all there for the residents and we sometimes get status in the way and forget that. Give them a break and instead of asking someone else why don't you help them? It would make a world of change. It is the little things that count. You could also pull her aside and ask her if she is okay, who knows maybe she is just having a bad day like we ALL do.:)

My friend had the same problem. She did the RN program and she is glad. When going to get a job she realized how many more options she has and the pay seemed a little better. (depending on where you are) Think about your future and what you want to be doing long term. Make sure you make the choice for what you want not who may be avail.
