  1. Hi ! I wanted to know if anyone on here has any experience with regionally and nationally accredited rn-bsn programs that are almost fully online or completely online that are not over a year to earn on a part-time basis. It's getting a bit difficult in picking a bsn that I want to start in the next few weeks but I am looking at USF, UF, Univ. of Texas in Arlington and Drexel University so if anyone has any input on these programs, please drop a line here ! Would rather hear from current or past students on their thoughts on their BSN programs ! :)
  2. Thank you so much for your answers ! Awhile back, id say a few years, UF had an RN to BSN. I wonder what happened to it then. how would you rate UF's program vs. USF 's ? I actually wouldn't mind waiting out till the Spring to get into UF's program.
  3. Hello there ! I am interested in starting soon my bsn online preferably since I will be working overnight and it will get some getting used to. I also reside in Fl (close to Jacksonville) and would actually like to hear back from anyone that is in a bsn online program that has a brick and mortar presence here in FL. It would be great if I never or very, very rarely have to set foot onto the campus itself. I am looking to use my bsn to help me get a hospital critical care position that will in turn, help me get into CRNA school eventually, so regionally accredited and nationally accredited schools that might help me land a local job in Jacksonville are at the top of my list !
  4. "It also has a strong emphasis on Critical Care and their graduates are known for clinical excellence. Customer service has been superb every time I call JU, it seems so organized. Private tuition could be better, but I'm certain the education is well worth it! " Im moving from Miami to the Jacksonville area and I am BSN shopping sort of say. I wanted to ask you, how is that so from other maybe local online schools for the BSN ?
  5. In corrections, what company do you work for ? Im looking to work prn or pt for corrections in Fl and would like to know what companies offer the best benefits, pay and their location.
  6. Believe me, if I could, I would. I just can't stay unemployed much longer so I had to open up to other areas of nursing that I might be better ab e to find employment. Plus, before I left for nursing school I was in the process of becoming a CO so finding employment in a correctional institute isn't far fetched for me.
  7. I also feel that traditional nursing jobs in hospitals for instance are the hardest to get and sometimes can be the lowest pay with the highest stress available. I just got a job for the state in Fl working with Juveniles and I am ecstatic about it ! :)
  8. Oh and btw, is he working in Hastings, Fl ?
  9. Do you also work for corrections or psych ? I'm just a lil hesitant cuz I don't want to be pigeonholed into psych or corrections if I eventually want to work in a critical care unit.
  10. Yea same here. I'm a bit older than most of my classmates and tbh, it doesn't seem as a problem. I actually didn't capitalize on the job but got a call from the dept of juveniles and I'll see what they are offering. They are being contracted by G4S
  11. What are the differences between armor vs Geo or Corizons in Fl ? I got got a call back from Corizons and surprisingly Geo as well and have applied to Armor but would love to hear ppls thoughts or experiences working with them, esp from Fl.

Anybody here worked for Corizons in Fl ? Namely in Gainesville or Lake Butler ? I recently got got a call back for an interview with them and as a new grad, I'm in a bit excited but uncertain as well.
  13. Not trying to hijack a thread, but by any chance do you work in Corizons in Fl ?
  14. Wanted to know what it's like to work for the Geo Group in Hastings. I'm also a new grad but am looking to get correctional experience. Please, opinions and experiences are what I'm Looking for. Oh and what to expect as far as pay and benefits go would definitely help as well. Thank you all for the responses !
  15. I am in the same boat as the OP; Graduated in December 2013, passed the NCLEX in 05/2013 and have literally sent out close to a 1,000 resumes out into the job market for new grads. Only got one call back from a position in corrections, literally a week after I passed the boards and I passed that up, thinking there MUST be a ton of jobs out there for a very nomadic and mobile person like I am. NOT. Just No. I also have applied to every residency prog in Florida that might accept me. Has anyone on here left the state to get a new RN grad job and found it ? If so, which state ?
