hi Chi Town RN, BSN I, too, am looking to do case management but have no prior experience. You mentioned that you have found case management positions that will hire new grads. Can you share the names of those companies please as I am seriously contemplating leaving bedside nursing and need to quickly land a job with a company that will hire a nurse with no case management experience. Do you think that Aetna would hire a nurse without previous CM experience? I am so excited to start applying but nervous at the same time because of my lack of experience. Does Aetna also train you in office first then let you work from home?

Jaqs96, how do u like CM? Do you do it from home and does it pay well? I am trying to get all my info firsthand so I can better see if this is a fit for me. Though I lack CM experience, I will still apply and hope that they are willing to train a new case manager.

Hi jaqs96! I, myself, am looking into telephonic case management, however, I just don't know where to begin. Also, I have been a nurse for only 3 years with mainly behavioral health background. Can I do case management without the med-surg, etc. experience? I also have an MS in nursing and hope that would be a plus for me. How is the pay with Aetna? Working from home sounds ideal, but is it really? Any info would be helpful right now as I am seriously contemplating leaving bedside nursing with the little experience I have.
