  1. Hi all! Im a new grad starting my first job as an RN on the 13th of Feb..But I need advice. I have been offered a Rehab Nursing position which pays 26.50 or a spot in a RN Residency program in which I will be place in 4 different units for 4 weeks in each. The units would be Med Surg, Medical, Pediatrics, and Telemetry at a pay rate of 22.50 and then 24.50 after the 12 weeks.. I do not want to make my decision based on the pay, I feel I can get experience in both positions and think I will be happy doing either one...nursing is what I was born to do! Id like any feedback available, I have to decide by tomorrow because I am scheduled to go sign all the paperwork... Thanks in advance!
  2. Im 23 and just finished my BSN and got licensed...so yes it was 4 years, and the nursing core classes are the same, but it is worth the investment! & of course all the rude comments towards BSN nurses come from ADN nurses! At the end of the day we are a NURSE! Patient care is our main focus, and the advantage of a BSN prepared nurse is that we can go into management, which is huge! & yes we are looked up to as "professionals" But again patients are our main concern, and thats what matters. Im from Texas, and the difference in pay is $4.25 as of now..
  3. Hello all, I like to say that I finally passed my NCLEX yesterday morning, and it shut off at 75! & I got the good pop up. My advice, KAPLAN ON DEMAND! I believe it made all the difference...especially the question bank! I finished the question bank with a 58%. Diagnostic exam:63 QT1:60 QT2:55 QT3:55 QT4:60 QT5:60 QT6:63 QT7:65 Readiness exam: I did not complete, ran out of time. Sample exam 1:54 sample exam 2:40 sample exam 3:93 I also used the LaCharity book, I did all 17 chapters! It really helped! Good luck to everyone studying! & Congrats to everyone passing! I truly feel blessed! Its a great way to end the year, and start off 2012! I look forward to hearing from everyone, I truly missed this website the last three days I was studying, lol. Oh, and God Bless the person who came up with the infection control mnemonics! was definitively helpful!
  4. Hello, Good luck on your exam! I took my NCLEX yesterday morning and as of the night before that my question bank was a 58% overall at 100%, so I was nervous...but dont worry! Like I said I took my NCLEX yesterday morning and it shut off at 75 questions & Im getting the good pop up! :) You will do just fine! Again, good luck!

  7. I have scored better on my QTrainers than on the sample exams. Diagnostic: 63 QT1:60 QT2:55 QT3:55 Sample exam 1:54 2:40 but when I review rationales I realize my gut answer on a few of them were right but i changed my answer... Friends, I scheduled my exam for the 29th, but at this rate, I think I am DEF not ready... Any advice? I like watching the LOD review of questions but it takes 3 hrs for every lesson!

  16. Hi all, I wanted to share my diagnostic scores with everyone..to see if anyone has any helpful input..Im embarrassed of my scores, but Im looking for guidance. Ive been unsuccessful twice already on my NCLEX :/ Management of care: 61% Safety and Infection Control: 50% Health Promotion and Maintenance: 61% Psychosocial Integrity: 67% Basic Care and comfort: 64% Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies: 67% Reduction of Risk Potential: 76% Physiological Adaptation: 56% When I got my NCLEX report back, they all said near the passing standard and one of them said above the passing standard. Is there any hope with these scores :/ My study plan is everyday at least 4-5 hours and questions..I need to pass! & Im enrolled in the Kaplan On demand course, going to watch their content videos and there questions I have my Saunders book & La Charity.. I also have the HURST review booklet and videos but that didnt help me last time..... Any advice! I mean I dont think Im dumb, but Im desperate...I cant fail again! Thank you in advance!!!

  18. Oh okay ill try thanks! Should I just use Saunders then? I'm so worried. Did u use la charity as well?
  19. Did you use the content course book? Do all the lectures and question trainers and question bank? I heard lots of ppl passed with kaplan but now I see some who still failed..and I hate that I can't see the rationales after the diagnostic test..
