  1. Yes..we are on the same page "hunny". Which ASN program did you choose? How are classes going so far?
  2. Thanks for the tip, I am applying for this school as well and will be taking a tour this week. From the research I have done it seems like the core classes are included in the program (somewhat). That's awesome! I am also trying to get certified as a CNA, for the experience, before spring semester starts. Hopefully I can work as much as possible until classes get heavy. A lot of people on this site have encouraged that training, both for the edge received while in school and also when applying for RN positions afterwards. Realistically speaking, I have a 2 yr old son, and I am a single mother so this is a big mountain I am about to climb. Recently, I have been thrusted into the world of unemployment, and I figure now is the time to seize the opportunity! Becoming an OB Nurse has been my dream since high school (12 years ago) and the bottom line is - there is never the perfect time to go back to school other than the present. I am hopeful and excited for this new change in the course of my life and my goal is to be a working RN by the time my son hits the K/1st grade. Wish me luck..and I will do the same for you!
  3. I'm curious to find out which school and degree you chose to go with? I'm trying to make the same decisions now....
  4. Which school did you end up choosing for your ASN? I am currently trying to pick between an ASN or a BSN program. Well actually I have decided to go for the ASN, but haven't pick which school to go to. I am a single mother with a 2 year old and for me, the ASN program will work the best in my situation. However, picking a school has been challenging. There are so many programs now here in GA! Any advice on your school of choice (for an ASN) and experience there would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Thanks for your feedback. I am in Douglas County so I am closer to Chattahochee Tech...they also have a ASN program. So I am checking out that option too. Your right though about the reviews online. Most people don't realize the level of discipline it takes to finish a nursing program, so the opinions are somewhat jaded. Good luck in your future goals...please feel free to keep me posted on your journey!
  6. Hello! I'm new to this site, and trying to get some advice on how to complete my RN goal. So, I'm starting fresh with my pre-reqs and uncertain which school to take them at. I want to go the cheapest route for just the core and then hopefully get accepted into a program somewhere (GPC,Mercer, Emory) better. However, I'm curious to know where everyone else has taken there pre-reqs or is it better to do all your classes at one school??? Any advise would be appreciated.
  7. just wondering what school you decided to go to since posting this message? i am currently seeking the same opportunity as you were and have run into the same dead ends when searching for a hospital based nursing program in ga. any advice (hospital based or otherwise) on schools here in ga would be greatly appreciated. i did visit the ga bon website and have researched the list of schools that are easily accessible to me, but the reviews from actual students haven't been too great. any suggestions??
