  1. I am thinking of going back to school. I have my ADN and a BS in a related field (Health Science.) Ideally I would find a program that I would not have to focus on getting my BSN first, however I am not against this. I am looking for a program that I can complete online (while I realize some clinical/practical hours are required), part time and that is cost effective. I have been holding because because at 43 years old with outstanding student loans, I do not want to add a large sum to the amount already owed. I have been looking at programs online, but they almost always require that you request more information, leading to endless phone calls. If you have any personal experience please let me know. I am mostly interested in PMHNP. THANKS :)
  2. There ARE LPN jobs out there. You most likely will not find a job in a hospital, but people who get their assoc. RN are also not finding hospital jobs. I think the LPN program is a great foot in the door. You only pay like $7k-$10K to go to school and you just have to make it through the short program. You will make so much more money than you would have as a CNA and you can do a bridge program in a year and a half part time after. I graduated in June and for me it was totally worth it. I found a job within 1 month of passing the NCLEX. You wont need to do the prereqs for the LPN program so that will save you waiting time and then you can be making more money while in a RN program. I say look into it def! Good luck!
  3. Where are you trying to get into? Some places offer classes on the subjects.
