Nursing Schools in Atlanta
Thanks for responding. It is not an option for me to blow off math. I must learn it. It has always been my most challenging subject though.

Nursing Schools in Atlanta
Hi everyone, Does anyone know of any RN programs in ATL besides Bauder that has their prereqs added into their program? I have been attending a community college for almost a year and a half and because I have not passed pre-algebra for the 3rd time, Math has always been challenging for me. I received an IP for a grade. Missed a C by 4 pts. I will have to sit out from that particular college for a year. The good news is, I can take Math098 at a Technical school, but I feel like time is of the essence for me. I will be 48 yrs young on Friday, and i would like to be an RN by 50. The classes that I have already obtained I'm sure can transfer. Also, I had taken a CNA course while on break in December. Looking to get into hospitals to gain experience. Any suggestions with both of my questions will be greatly appreciated??????

pre nurse practitioner
Thanks BostonNP. You are from my home town. I am born and raised in Boston. I migrated to Atlanta in the early 90's. I go home whenever I can though. What would be your advice for a post-MSN?

pre nurse practitioner
Hey, I checked out WGU website, they offer a MSN program with an ADN or a diploma in nursing (LPN) I thought that if you have your MSN, you can start applying for Nurse Practioner jobs. Is that accurate? I am interested in getting my Masters to be a NP not sure on the steps I will need to take.

CNA/OB Tech
Thanks for your responses. Tinkk, you mentioned you live by a hospital that hires CNAs? May I ask which one?

Bauder College Pleasant Surprise
Greetings, I am interested in attending Bauder College. I went June 2011, took the Wonderlic test and did not pass on my first try. I have not been back since. I have to be honest, I was a little fearful of retaking it, plus I have been attending college somewhere else and that took up a lot of my time. It is now 2013 soon to be 2014. I do not want to waste any more time. Does anyone have any suggestions on taking the wonderlic? I would hate to fail it a second time.

Working as a CNA before nursing school?
Greetings, Happy Holidays to ALL. I will be starting a CNA program on December 2, 2013. I am also pre-nursing. I am currently in college taking classes that will go toward my nursing degree. I would also like to get the experience so I figured I would take a CNA course whille on break. I volunteer at a top 10 hospital in Atlanta, Ga. I would like to find out how can I get into the L&D department as a CNA and will a hospital train a CNA as a OB tech?

CNA/OB Tech
Greetings, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a CNA and OB Tech are one in the same? I read a few articles on the site, and it sounds as if they are. I will be starting a CNA class soon, and it ends the last week of December. I live in the Atlanta area. Does anyone know of any hospitals that hire CNA/OB Techs for L&D? I would love to work in the L&D department (that is what I want to specialize in once I become a RN) After reading about the OB tech, it sounded really interesting. Also, I was wondering if I would need additional training to be a OB Tech, and if so, would a hospital train me? Look forward to hearing your responses.

New CNA
Greetings, I am so delighted that this site is available to us. I am starting a CNA program on December 2, 2013. I am looking forward to where it will lead me. I am currently volunteering at a well known hospital in Atlanta. I believe giving back is very important. "For much is given, much is required". I figure it will also help me get my foot in the door once I complete my CNA course. I have been attending college for 13 months now. the classes that I have been taking are classes that are in the Nursing Curriculum. No sciences as of yet due to having to pass a math class that does not even count towards my GPA (that's another post :) My ultimate goal is to be a NP. I am 47 basically starting over. This is a second career for me. My dad always said nursing is a great career to enter into, I must agree especially after reading so many post on this site. I started my prereqs many moons ago, but raising the children was a priority. They are grown up now, so I have decided to finish what i first started. I have been considering bauder college. I understand they do not request any prereqs. I have taken the wonderlick test and did not pass. I have not been back since (that was June 2011) Part of me was fearful to retake the test, and another part of me just got busy. I would love to work in the L&D as a CNA. Does anyone have any suggestions that can help me along my journey? Thanks for allowing me to share my story
