Yes the creative part is a component of the grading

I'm making a concept map for a patient with peripheral vascular disease and I need a creative component. I'm making a poster and thought about drawing veins and arteries to connect the various parts of the concept map, but I'm not sure if this is what I want to do so I was just wondering if anyone had any other creative ideas related to this disease! Thank you for the help! Since my patient had been in the hospital for a little while, his vitals and labs were all within normal limits so I was struggling with finding an appropriate diagnosis which is why I was looking for something that had to do with his abscess. I could think of many pyschosocial diagnoses like fear, anxiety, knowledge deficiet, however for this assignment we are only allowed to use one psychosocial diagnosis and we need 3 physiological diagnoses which I was struggling to come up with. I was thinking Impaire Tissue Integrity too but I wasn't sure if that was only applicable for a skin abscess because in my nursing diagnosis handbook all the assessments listed have to do with the skin. This patient had colon cancer which was removed with a left hemicolectomy and a subsequent colonostomy 7 months ago. He presented with a fever and leg pain but when I first became his student nurse it was a few days after he was admitted and he no longer had a fever or any pain. He had a biopsy which revealed that the thought abscesses where actually cancerous tumors in his abdomen. Is there a nursing diagnosis for metastatic cancer?

For starters, a nursing diagnosis cannot include any medical diagnoses so you can't say Diabetes Mellitus in your diagnosis, you would have to use something like "elevated blood sugar" or whatever it is that is specific to your patient.

This is a tricky one. Personally, I think this technique is an example of restating. Restating is stating exactly what the patient said and it gives them a chance to elaborate or modify their feelings which is what I think you intended. Reflecting is more along the lines of restating what the patient said in the form of a question. An example whould be if the patient said, "Do you think I should tell the doctor about..." and you said, "Do you think you should?" Your example could be focusing since focusing is when you pursue the topic until its meaning is clear but since you repeated the patient's statement I would have to say it's restating. Does that make sense? Hope this helped! I did do an assessment, vitals were normal, he denied any pain. His lymphocytes were decreased and his hemoglobin and hematocrit levels were above normal however he is anemic. He has a history of colon cancer, 7 months post left hemicolectomy with an end colostomy. He did have a biopsy on his abscesses which were postive for cancer.

He presented with leg pain and a fever, however those have resolved so I'm not sure if I would still be able to use Acute Pain. Does anyone have any ideas or worked with a patient with an abdominal abscess?
