  2. We only use them for post-op cardiothoracic surgical patients. Maybe if someone's seriously septic we might put one in. But we have orders NOT to wedge! Basically, with the heart patients, we use the swans to decide on a neo gtt vs dopa/nitro combo vs only fluids. It's a matter of preference for the MDs.

Anyway, there's soo much to learn, no one can keep it all straight till they've been doing it at least 6 months. thirdly, http://www.icufaqs.org/ will become your best friend---it's like an online preceptor have fun! enjoy those adrenaline rushes! and lastly---please don't faint in the ICU!
  5. I haven't heard of levo boluses before. I'd would think not much else would work if you had maxed out your epi.
  6. make that two of us! Any CRNAs out there? I'd love to follow you around for a day or two!
