  1. We are starting the baby frienly initiative as well. We don't use any of it in the NICU. It's only in well babies. Our neo isn't real happy with cup and syringe feeding in the nursery, she's concerned with the aspiration risk.
  2. I started in the NICU. Did a 12 week orientation. I think you should call to follow up sooner rather than later. I did and said I wanted to let them know I was still very interested in the job and to thank them verbally again for the opportunity. I was hired the next day. Good luck. The NICU is an incredible place to work.

    I will be taking the RNC NICU (high risk) exam in late summer or early fall. I was hoping for tips on study materials and the study process. I currently am studying from The Neonatal Handbook, Certification review, & Physical Assessment of the Newborn. My unit is a Level III NICU but we do not have ecmo and send out cardiac kids that need more than minimal intervention. Needless to say the cardiac content is a little daunting. Thank you for any feedback, it will be greatly appreciated.
