  1. So my informatics class is winding down and it was a good experience. I work full time and it was managable...I don't have any kids at home so that's a break. Im thinking of 2 classes in april then just 2 more and Im done ! I have to take a loan or get financial aid b/c husband is out of work right now...and I have one son still in college...so im hoping I qualify for something... How is it going for you? Are you taking anything in April?
  2. i don't think so...We each had to do a "biosketch" on the first week to introduce ourselves and give some background information on ourself...I don't think anyone is living outside of NJ at this time. Most if not all are currently NJ licensed RNs. Although anyone can apply to program. Hope this helps.
  3. hI Jershar: Im taking Nursing Informatics. Im only taking one class because money is tightright now and my employer doesnt have tuition reimbursment. Im really enjoying it, it's been challenging learning how to navigate the online learning...but so far Im doing well. Our professor (mentor) assigns discussions once or twice a week that you post to a main discussion board. It requires alot of APA citing and correct formats and that's something that I havent done in years so Im learning alot. There are 3 text books , one of them is the APA handbook. Additionally, there are links posted each week with material to learn. There are 13 people in my class and we are required to comment on each others posts. Like I said, so far, so good. We have one big paper due in a few weeks which requires some research. You get access to the NJ state reference library to look up articles on your subject. Have you enrolled yet? TESC is really good at taking transfers and they have a good reputation, Ive met so many graduate level nurses that used this program. Good luck and lets keep in touch...
  4. hi jershar: Im in the bsn program now. i transfered 120 credits to a BA in science and transfered all but 6 classes (18 sh) towards bsn. 75 dollar app fee covers the academic evaluation. tuituion is tricky because the nsg program (you have to be enrolled in it) charges more per sh than other courses but you dont need to pay yearly tuition enrollement (1700 or so). I had to pay the enrollment fee to get my ba processed then i paid the 970 for the nursing course. its alot, but cheaper than most others i researched. they are fully accredited and many nj nurses are using this program to advance their degree. hope this helps. good luck
  5. once the presidential election is behind us...and the country becomes prosperous again, the market will return. hang in there.
  6. Thank you Jershar...My son (in college now) recomended the same site..I'll check it out. So far, Im really enjoying it. If I could take 2 or 3 classes I would but I dont qualify for student aid and cant afford more than one class at a time. I have the books, just bought them if anyone will be needing them when Im done, let me know.
  7. I thought you were an RN already? Clarify what you are asking please. Did you go on the website...I found lots of information there. Took all of say...3 minutes.
  8. TESC only takes 80 credits from community college. They will take more from a 4 year school. Im in the informatics class now. Just started it, I think it will be fun. I havent had to write papers in a long time so I think that's going to be hard for me.
  9. When did the word "corporation" become such a target for the financial woes of the world? Do younger people NOT understand that the roofer that lives next door is likely a corporation? The landscaper cutting your lawn is a corporation? The horse farm in the country may also be a corporation? What dont they understand about free market economies? We have built an economy that has done MORE good for the WORLD than any other in history ! Its based on competition (ie PROFITS are GOOD), freedom and ingenuity.....The US has invented more medicines and made them available to the WORLD and it only happens in this FREE market country. It irks me to see these dumb kids from the burbs taking a crap on a corner stores front step.....all in the name of revolution.....My advice is stop listening to your college economics teacher and go try to start a business. Try working 14-16 hrs a day for years for beans, just to be taxed out of business because the kids think you are a mean ole corporation. We have equality of OPPORTUNITY in the country...that is not the same as equality of RESULTS.
  10. I suppose that was a harsh word....but Im thinking of the rapes, TB outbreaks, Squallor, defecation on streets, urine and vomit reported on the doors of area small businesses.....then there is the stabbing of a few police officers today....a handful of drug overdose/homocide..... And still, Im not sure what their message is........................... So, I believe the poster resides in China....that is what his/her profile states, so Im wondering if she/he is commuting daily? And since he/she hasn't yet ENROLLED in nursing school it would seem to be an entirely theoretical question.... Peace MJ:coollook:
  11. No I wouldn't hire you. I wouldn't hire you even if you DIDNT get arrested. I wouldnt hire you for being part of that filthy "protest".....JMO
  12. Hmmm...The campus is in trenton, Ive passed it enroute to my sons college...I am sure it's a B&M...the HR director where I work graduated TE, I asked if she went online and she said no, she took all classes at the campus. Maybe some of the programs only online? I'll have to look into it. Not that it matters, Im happy with my choice thus far. Good luck to you...let me know what courses you'll be taking...Im thinking informatics in Jan. I have to wait until my BA diploma is awarded to switch back major to NSG, then I can register for my first class. Are you thinking of Psych nursing?
  13. Hi everyone, new here. old nurse, lol...Im enrolled in the rn to bsn/msn TESC program. I live in jersey and have over 190 college credits I collected over the years. TE was wonderful about matching up my credits with their requirements. It may be easier if you are a state resident since the comm. colleges and other states colleges have an agreement to exchange credits. So , I paid my 75 dollars, sent my transcripts and viola ! I only need the upper level nsg classes (6 classes) for my rn and another5 for my msn. In the meantime, it ends up I qualify for a BA in natural science and math (many of my old credits were calc, physics, bio, etc..), so Im applying for graduation from that program. Pretty complicated but that's kinda how my life is....Overall, TE has been very responsive and accommodating. And as far as reputation, the college is known as a brick and mortar school...most folks in jersey assume you went to the campus. It has a good state school reputation. Anyone else taking informatics in Jan?
