Im a foreign nurse graduate from Philippines as well. I am on the same boat as you are, You have to graduate from a nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE, it does not matter if you meet the rest of requirements, they will not accept you.

Direct commissioning
4 5 6 #650 12:10 am by nursemacel NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brief info: I am currently Army reservist E4 since 2015. Took RN exam passed 2016. Have a BSN degree from the Philippines and 1 year experience as hospital Med- Surg nurse here in United States. I'm trying to go Direct Commissioning. I called the Amedd recruiter in the state i lived in as soon as i found out that i passed the NClex-RN. Recruiter said that i need to have at least 6 mos. of hospital experience first prior to application then i could apply for DC even though i had my BSN education in the Philippines (he verified this to the OIC in charge) they said i should be ok as long as i have the months of experience needed. After about having 7 mos. of clinical experience i called the recruiter back, this time they said that I CAN NOT proceed for applying DC due to my BSN was completed from the Philippines.(BTW my education was evaluated by WES before joining the Army as enlisted soldier and it says EQUIVALENT to USA BSN in Nursing). I talked to my commander and 1st Sgt. in my unit about this situation and they are really wanting me to go to DC but i am so confused about the foreign BSN issue that i have at this point. Any body with same issue? or any info. about this. ? please help i am so helpless at thi point. Thanks in advance.

my dream job seems impossible to get
Im a filipina currently residing in arkansas.Like you,i felt that way too,Im RN in my country but my first job here in USA was a dietary aide.I didn't ashamed about that in fact,i am very proud because i've tested my self on how versatile i am.But to make a story short i was transferred to nursing department and working as a CNA.Even the company knows that i am a nurse in my country they still suggested that i should take a certified nursing examination in order for me to work as CNA.Fortunately i did took the exam and passed it.Now i am working for more than 1 year as a CNA and preparing to take a step to take my NCLEX-RN exam. Life in foreign country isn't easy. You need to adjust, you will become a strong person.A independent woman which you will find your self more stronger than you think of. I would say in your situation,in education there is no adult nor young. If you are courage to pursue what are your dreams are, reach it make it come true. You might face a lot of trials but think that it is only a challenge for you how much you are dedicated in your goal. GOd bless to you and GOD may guide you
