  1. Can you do the clinical rotations at a hospital near your hometown?
  2. I know this question has probably been asked, but I am confused, bare with me! I currently have my LPN license in the state of Missouri. I am wanting to get my RN online and at a pretty good pace. If I go to Western Governors online, do they take LPN into RN? Or is it strictly RN to BSN and so on? Please help! ?
  3. Some of the sections I thought I'd do great on - I bombed and vice versa. I had to put the books in the closet - go run and walk through my parents woods on the farm and fall asleep early just to keep myself away from studying I became that anxious. Take a walk with a note pad if that makes you feel better or if you think of a weakness that you can focus on. DO NOT keep teaching yourself the material you already know.
  4. Relax. Without looking at any material write down a list of 10 things that you know you struggle with. from that point go to those direct sections and you do a mental - test your own brain review and then take a practice test do a light review the day before your NCLEX. Don't study the day of test. A doctor taught me this trick and it's worked great every time. Good luck!
  5. As for clinicals. DIVE IN! Don't wait. If 20 pt's need a foley cath - you better try and do all 20. Get that practice. Make it second nature. Really take time to focus on that patient and their rX list. See if you can find errors or why they are taking everything. Any contraindications? Look over labs - make each day a mystery and try and solve each puzzle. It never gets old once you fall in love it.
  6. I studied my way right out of nursing school. No lies. Went above and beyond and spent so much time trying to learn things that weren't in the book, that when the test came - I felt I studied everything but the printed material. Really focus on THE PRINTED MATERIAL. Do the work book if you have one. Side Effects, Class, adverse reactions, what its used for. Simplify and Make sure you know what it is. Start Now, don't fall test out with a 79.8% when you need an 80% like I did :) Sleep well, don't stress. It's the beginning. THE PRINTED MATERIAL. End of the chapter reviews and all of the little quizzes in book. Good Luck.
  7. I agree. The second book Prioritization and Delegation is a great tool and lifetime reference.
  8. NCLEX PN-Review Incredibly Easy 3rd Edition. Great Practice Test! And ATI-Like Reviews in each chapter. Loved it. Used it for NCLEX In May of '14.
  9. I just own it. I'm confident and still always willing to learn and help. I feel very respected. Regardless, I've only had positive reactions because people really feel great about the career field.
  10. If you buy online - def check the pockets. I got some cool ones and ended up just having one small pocket on the side?! Huge prob for me anyway.
  11. Take a step back. Sounds like you are really overwhelming yourself. That can become a huge problem - especially when you sit down at the test. Trust yourself - don't second guess - and rock on
  12. Pre-Nursing Student?! I'd say you might be in the wrong field if you're already experiencing a burn-out aspect with this kind of care. Hang in there or find something new (not healthcare related)
  13. Honestly, you've crammed and studied a lot. There won't be anything so bizarre you haven't learned before. Relax - Deep Breathe - Simple review
  14. What is the ISU school you are speaking about? Indiana State?
