  1. I will also be attending North Campus! Can't wait to meet everyone! Does anyone know of any website or store that sells all the books we need at a discount/cheaper price? this will help me tremendously because I have to pay for this out of pocket, so the more I save the better :)
  2. Yay North Camous here I come!!!! Extremely excited.
  3. I didn't get the email for the online track, but I'm ASSUMING that those who put that they were doing online on the contract we filled out at orientation were the only ones who got the email. They said that if you were interested that you had to put online on it.
  4. Hey Yadi84, I just received your email but for some reason I can't email u back. Anyhow, my mistake but I was talking about micro, so sorry for the misunderstanding. However, I will be attending north campus. Hope to u see there.
  5. Stay positive! The first few weeks were really tough for me when I took it this past summer. I started out with a low C, then started getting A's on my tests and my final grade was a B for both lab and lecture. So have faith, u will do great. :)
  6. I personally think that you should quit your job. At orientation they kept stressing that students shouldn't keep a job while in nursing. However, if you know that you are a fast learner and you understand the material right away then you can possibly pull it off. My friend that was previously in the program said that there was no way she could work and be in nursing school, you spend at least 80 hours a week doing nursing, between school, studying and practicing your skills, there really is no time for yourself let a lone a job.
  7. I just received a reply from admissions and she said she's not sure if all campuses accept ceufast. As far as making up the hour, she said to do the one hour bloodborne pathogens. She gave me the contact info to verify if they accept ceufast, so I will give them a call tomorrow.
  8. Honestly, if you had a choice to defer for May I would but you know what you are capable of doing/handling. It was hard for myself and majority of the class. I took Micro lecture and lab in the six week course this past summer and it was hard, I'm not going to lie. We had to do two papers, a test every week plus assignments and extra credit which you want to do because a lot of people didn't get good grades on their tests. However, by this time you will probably be disciplined with your studying habits so you may be able to handle it. During the summer you will attend both classes monday-thursday. Take a chance and go for it, what do you have to lose! Good Luck!
  9. Thanks for your help! I'm also planning to attend North Campus. I just emailed someone at North but I did ask if they accepted it at all three campuses just incase I do not get North. I will let you know if they accept it or not, but I'm sure they will, if they accepted it for the August 2011 Class.
  10. Hi Scilla55, I was just wondering how did you make-up the one hour that we lack...ceufast.com gives us 21 hrs and we need 22hrs total? I just emailed admissions to see how we would do it, but if you did, what did you do to get the total of 22hrs? Thanks :)
  11. Britt123, Yes ma'am. I made sure I asked when the assistant dean was taking questions before orientation started and they also mentioned it during orientation. If you sat in the back it was probably tough to hear because she had a soft toned voice. I'm also going to send an email to one of the admission advisors just to double check that they accept it. Also be aware that by taking the online CEU, that we don't get all the hours, I think we are short by one hour so we have to make it up. I'm also going to clarify this matter in the email because I'm not sure how or what needs to be done to make up the hour.
  12. Hi britt123, Don't start panicking yet. We won't be able to see the teachers until the day of registration. Remember during orientation they said, don't try to register now because you won't be able to do so and if u try to, they will see that you tried and you can possibly be dropped. So wait until October 27th. They will be sending us the schedules for all three campuses and online sometime this week. If you don't see the schedules on wednesday by noon start panicking because you should have those schedules sent to you in order to register. As for the certificates that we need, try to do it online. There is a website call ceufast.com or nursingspectrum.com. You should check it out, you won't have to wait for the class that starts mid November. I hope this helps! Good luck to you.
  13. I'm sure everyone will get the campus of their liking, just be positive and good things will happen for all of us. Even if I don't get my first choice, North Campus, I'm just grateful that I got into the program considering that 1000 students applied. I will drive an hour if I had to, because I worked very hard to get to this point and I'm sure everyone else did to. Just follow the procedure they gave us in orientation for registration and you will get your seat. Don't start worrying now because this is the least of our worries. I have a friend that just graduated and passed her NCLEX and gave me great advice so trust me when I say this is the least of worries, considering that she told me we start with about 75-80 students in the first semester and it will probably dwindle down to around 30-40 students by the second semester, since this was the situation that happened with her class and the other campuses. I'm not trying to scare anyone, but this is the reality we will be faced with, so don't sweat the little stuff and I'm sure the dean and counselors will work with your situation, because they did say under certain circumstances they will help us. Plus the great thing about our program is that we have an online class. So stay positive and we all get through every obstacle that is thrown our way. We will all do great! I wish everyone the best of luck.:yeah::yeah:
  14. I'm very aware central campus is closer to me, but I prefer North Campus for personal reasons. Sorry that you may be paranoid with your situation, but everyone has a fair chance at the campus they would like to attend. I wish you all the best.
  15. Hey Everyone, Congratulations on the acceptance into the program! I'm so anxious to start but at the same time scared. This won't be an easy journey over the 18 months. I'm sure we will all do great though. Just remember to stay focused and determined, and always remember when times get tough, which it will, to keep your head up and keep reaching for the one goal we all set out to get...Becoming the best Nurse that we can be :) Good luck to everyone Hey!!!! I'm hoping to get into north campus as well, and I to will be coming from the davie 595 area. :)
