Passing the NCLEX-RN with a newborn and toddler at home
I graduated nursing school with my BSN this past December. I had a baby a week after I graduated. I also have a 3 year old at home. I have been studying for the NCLEX since about August. Passed the readiness ATI with a 74% in December. After I had my sweet baby boy I decided to put the NCLEX off for a few months until I felt ready. I took the Kaplan course in January and got decent scores. Nothing to brag home about. My q-bank was in the 50's and 60's. I did NOT have a structured study schedule. I had to revolve my studies around my kids. I did not have the money to pay for a babysitter either. So I did q-bank questions every day, read parts of the Kaplan book and took all the question trainers. I usually studied with a newborn in my arms and a toddler running around the room. AND I PASSED in 76 questions. So if you have a stressful situation that isnt a traditional student one, then no fear it can be done trust me.

Entering first year in Fall 2012- Very Nervous!
I just took my finals for my BSN program (Semester 1). The only thing I wish I would have done is read up on Patho/Pharm and Health Assessment. Make sure you make a good study group right when you start. Do not get behind, and make sure to get some sun!! I have a one year old and I did just fine. So dont stress yourself silly. But do find someone who just finished and ask them if you can borrow or buy their books (Read them). I only had 1 month to prepare so I did not have that advantage. Good Luck and congrats to a year full of FUN, hard work, and memories.

WSU BSN Fall 2012
It seems like every semester they pull people off the waiting list to start J1. I am now a J2 (yay) and my best friend in the program was called off the wait list. She was called on the day of orientation. So never give up!! I completed J1 with a 1 year old too, it was hard but very worth it. My advise: go on a nice summer vacation, and if you can get your hands on a patho book or notes do so. I wish I had a patho book to study before we started, it would of made my life 100% less stressful. I am in the Tri-Cities if anyone wants to do that :) (Patho/Pharm)

I have a interview on the 22nd. Thank you for all the input. Ive worked so hard for this opportunity. It seems like some people received their acceptance letters in less than a month. I can't wait to go and enjoy beautiful Spokane. I have to admit I am a little nervous too. I just hope I don't get hit with bad luck and totally choke on the interview, or my sweet baby keeps me up all night.:)
