  1. Yeah they have microwaves in the snack/supply store. People buy microwavable's and cup noodles all the time!
  2. I want to say I heard it was $120 for two uniforms, not 100 percent sure though.
  3. Congrats! My score was barely 70 so my chances were already pretty slim. I did however receive my spring email! Good luck to you guys.
  4. Dang, it seems evident now that our chances for fall semester is over. They are probably working on sending out alternate and spring semester emails now.
  5. Nice! I have a really good feeling that some of you guys are going to end up in fall.
  6. If they say it's not wise to buy a book one edition older, then I would recommend renting the current edition on Chegg. It seems that nursing classes are exactly 2 months long based on the mtsac class schedule. Chegg allows you to rent for 3 months which is plenty of time to study and return. The books by the way range from $15 to $25 to rent.
  7. I asked Barcode if students have to pass the dosage exam with a 100 percent and he said this: No. You can miss a max of 3 questions out of 20 to pass each dosage calc exam (remember, you have one dosage calc exam for EACH class; don't worry though, they are all relatively similar problems with the exception of Pediatrics). If you fail the test, you get a second chance. Let's say you fail N1A dosage once, but you pass the retake test. If you fail N1B's dosage calc, you can still retake the exam (you basically have 2 tries for EACH dosage calc). If you fail the 2nd time consecutively, you are dropped.
  8. Hm yeah, I believe the Davis's Drug Guide comes with additional stuff so I would probably buy the new current edition. However, I'm hoping they are ok with us buying older editions for books that do not come with other resources.
  9. The Mtsac bookstore website does not seem to work for me so I called them instead. They said that they provide a bundle package where they offer all the required books for the first semester for ~$600. You would save some money if you bought it this way instead of manually buying them. Some of the books for Nursing 1A is Kozier, Fundamentals of Nursing (9ed) and Davis's Drug Guide for nursing (13ed). I am not trying to spend a lot of money on books so I'm going to wait until orientation to see if it's ok to buy older editions, preferably 1ed older.
  10. i believe we will find out if we got into fall or spring semester on May 16.
  11. Ah icic. I actually went to my appointment and verified everything. My final score is 70.5 and saw that I was right in the middle of the list. I'm pretty sure I'll be in for spring 2015 starting in February. Mtsac is not everyones first choice so I'm sure a lot of the alternates will get in as well. As far as getting in the fall semester myself, I think its slim to none. But we'll see in May!
  12. So they sent out 160 emails. 60 students for fall + 20 alternates and 60 students for spring + 20 alternates?
  13. Since this is a 4 day orientation, how are people supposed to do attend that without it conflicting with work? Cause I intend to work part-time while going to school.
  14. Yeah I'm assuming...but not 100 percent sure.
