Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2012
My friend who starts in Aug 6 was saying that you also have to meet with the HR the same day you have your appointment for the physical. I start on Aug. 20 but I havent gotten a call or email about the physical. Anyone else in the second cohort that didn't get a call or email? Or anyone in the second cohort who did? I figure they would start calling the first cohorts first. I already did the drug test so I am just waiting.

Help trying to figure out about a caregiver job
Hi. So I am a newly graduated RN-BSN in California. Been looking for jobs now for a couple of months with no luck. So I know someone who offered me a caregiver job somewhere in the area. I was wondering if we can work as a caregiver without any training or will it jeopardize our license. The caregiver job consist of working nights to watch the patient, give some medications, and help care for a continuous g-tube. I was wondering if anyone knew if we can do that. Please help. -Sorry if I put this topic in the wrong place.

Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2012
ya. my second interview felt rushed. All she asked was why we should hire you and what other area of interest would you pick if med-surg was closed. does it really take 2-3 weeks for them to tell us if we get hired? is it by phone call or email? also... who do we write a thank you letter to?
-
Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2012
Yes so I got an invite but I never got a call or that skills survey part. So does anybody know what that means. Also do you know how many people are gonna be interviewed? I know over thousands of people applied but there is on 50 slots so just wondering? And what if you don't have any volunteer certificates, its optional but would it look bad that you don't? Sorry for all the questions, just very curious. Cuz my friend had the phone interview but I didn't and we all got the same email. Same with the essay, any format that it has to be like single-spaced or double-space...

Help wit resume and cover letter. critique please.
I have to say thank you very much for the critique. I have had many people look at my resume and cover letter and no one was ever honest enough like this. They mostly corrected my spelling and suggest a few pointers but this was very very helpful and straight to the point. I don't mind the pain of it all :) I have pretty much followed a majority of the things many of you said, I mean I am still in the process of fixing it to be as perfect as it can be but so far this is what I have for both. I hope the cover letter is more appealing. First, I pretty much just took out all the information regarding my clinical rotations and just listed it. I always thought it was pretty long anyways. I just left my senior practicum since that is one of the mains. Instead I added some of the things I did in my cover letter instead. @Aliakey i know you were sayin to remove the objective from the resume. And I wouldnt mind doing that. but I also made up another one, hoping for it to be stronger and better than the first. @inchRistIcaN I hope your job search will also pay off. There are times when I try and find a name for the letter and to no luck. Anyway, so if you guys are willling to look at my corrected resume and cover letter again. I really very much appreciate it. And any new people who can give me more pointers. No harm in being honest with your opinion. While I perfect my resume. I am trying to get better at my interviewing skills also. Thank you guys again for you input. So I pasted my resume and cover letter below _____________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVE To build upon my knowledge and skills to develop into the best nurse I could become and gain new experiences in providing high quality care.
