  1. It's still a possibility. I had mine listed with the big 3 (although I was not a new nurse, just new to the navy) and the detailer called me and asked/told me that I should go to Belvoir! I am not sure what other bases have adapted the program now but there are other options!
  2. I commissioned at 39, you will have no problem. If you have already been a nurse for a while it can make you more competitive than the younger, fresh out of school nurses!
  3. There are more than just the big three to choose from now. They have developed CNTP (clinical nurse transition programs) for new grads at other bases including Fort Belvoir, VA now. Just something to keep in mind if you think you only get to choose from the big 3!
  4. Overall, a pretty easy process. Just regular medical physical with vision and hearing tests. Some bloodwork, urine test and alcohol screen.
  5. Well, the holidays caused me a bit of a delay in receiving orders but I finally got them!! I was able to have my husband swear me in 12 hours before he went on a month long training mission with the army. He's set to return 4 days before I fly out to ODS!
  6. Thanks! I'm pretty excited.
  7. So detailer called me yesterday with a different offer! Still ODS in February but he'd like me to go to fort belvoir instead. Works out a little better for me! So I'm belvoir bound!!
  8. Ok so I finally got the word..... Feb ODS and then Bethesda!! Glad the wait is over!!
  9. My recruiter said the detailer called me directly and left a message for me back in october, problem is I never got it. That's what's frustrating to me....I could have already known. I'm waiting to hear so I can turn in my notice to my current boss! Hurry up....and wait!
  10. I did 3, the last one was done because I found a higher ranking nurse to interview me....thought it would look better. They were in person at a local reserve center. Very casual as well. One asked what honor, courage and commitment meant to me. The rest was just chatting about what my plans were.
  11. So frustrated! Spoke with recruiter today. Issues with detailer! Long story short is detailer is out of.town and only accessing via email. Apparent the detailer called me directly in October and left a message. Problem is I never got it! Waiting on email reply for details. Grrrrr
  12. Congrats to all who have heard! Bfrei, no news yet. I will call my recruiter Monday. Seems when I call him, he just found something out and was about to call me!! Hoping for February. First choice is bethesda since my family will remain in Tennessee for now (have kids in school).
  13. Congrats! still waiting on my orders.....
  14. What is your preference, if I may ask?
  15. Found out I was final selected today as well!!!
