  1. Thank you for the advice, I have been looking around, so far haven't found any free ones close enough to me. Did you go for the CNA and then on to another nursing program?
  2. I am currently in a community college doing my prereqs to get into nursing school, and it is very competitive around here, I was thinking of taking a CNA program in the summer to give me both experience and maybe increase my chances on getting into a nursing school, any thoughts?, would this be worth it?. I'm in southern California and the CNA programs all vary from 500-2000$. Also If anyone around the Los Angeles area recommends any specific programs?

  4. Hello: I have looked at that school too, and yes the prices are very high, but there is a BIG reason for going there no WAIT! I mean you can work your butt of in CC and then still not get in to their nursing programs, or be wait listed for 2 years, when you have 1000s of people competing for 30-40 spots I can see why you might look else where even if it cost a lot of $$
  5. yep, Im at least 3 years in too and not accepted into the program, and my school has also just changed its requirements (I'm in CA tho) ,so I have even more to do. I am thinking of going the LVN-RN route now so at least when I apply to RN I will have some advantage.
  6. I am having the same thoughts, I would love to go straight to RN, but the wait it so long that it might be 4 plus years before I would be an RN. In that time i could already at least have some experince in the field if I am in LVN. Any one else have some advice?
