  1. Thanks for taking sometime between semesters to openly answer questions. Can you elaborate in more detail on your financial aid? I know there are a lot of forums about options, just looking for the most up to date information on this. Also I know many people ask is it really hard/time consuming as people say. Well that isn't my question, because I am preparing myself for it. But I just am curious what your typical day/week is like. I plan not to have a life, but I am more afraid about burnout and wondering it you have found ways to work other things in to prevent this as you get further into the program.
  2. To anyone currently in school, I might potentially have a long commute to and from school. Has anyone had any luck with an audio recorded text book or at least maybe an audio recorded anesthesia book that might be good to listen too during the commute?
  3. But now that I think about it a little more the extra time in preparation and saving money for when and if I get in next year is really appealing to me. I know I want to be a CRNA, but timing is key, so right now I'm chalking it up to "it wasn't meant to be" this time around and working on all my MSN transfers to roll into either Rosalind, Rush or DePaul next year to lighten my load. If you are still watching this forum, where did you taken MSN classes and did they actually transfer to lighten your load? What classes did you end up taking? THANKS!
  4. I did Kaplan review in class for my NCLEX, while I did an online Princeton Review for the GRE. I am also a bad standarized test taker and prefered the Princeton Review. I had just above a 1200, which was 400 points better than prior to the review course. Do you have adult ICU experience? I know it is not required everywhere, but during my program search, I also noticed many school that prefer or require some adult experience.
  5. dzeym: Have you made any decisions on schools yet? You were from out of state, correct? If going to RF, where were you thinking about living? One of the close apartments or on campus?
  6. Have you gotten then chance to follow a CRNA. I was pretty sure this was the specialty I wanted to go into due to a personal experience I had. I spent 8 hours in the OR/pre-op interviews with a CRNA and KNEW for sure that was what I wanted to do. I could not wait to get into a position where I could apply to schools and hopefully get into a program, so I did some more shadowing and love the profession. This is something that most school require and some even require a recommendation letter from a CRNA, so if you are still unsure of the profession in general, I would go ahead and set-up a shadow time, and you can ask all these questions in person, along with getting first hand experience of what it might be like. Just my suggestion - even though I have absolutely no training as a CRNA at this time.
  7. That is my plan. I don't know anyone who is set on going yet, just a handful still trying to decide.
  8. dzeyrn: How did your other interview go? Have you made a school decision or still waiting to hear from other schools?
  9. Just wondering if anyone out there has been accepted into Rosalind Franklin's CRNA program starting Spring of 2012, or has been put on the waitlist?
