  1. I know from taking an intro to nursing class that the nurses association thinks that to be an RN one should have a bachelors degree. I sure hope it does not apply to Oklahoma anytime soon, since I am going for my associates in nursing now.
  2. It doesnt sound too bad. Since none of them are science courses with labs, you might see about taking them online if they are available there. That would give you more time to work with around your schedule.
  3. The Hesi2 was required for the college I applied at. It consists of vocabulary, reading, math, chemistry, and anat/phys. Everything is really easy except for the chemistry and anat, where you really have to take the classes in order to know the material. I dont know about taking the TEAS, but I know some colleges here use it here too. Usually there is study manuals you can buy for these entrance exams you can buy at the local college bookstore, or go the Amazon route to save some money. Good luck to you.
  4. Ok, that sounds great. I got to figure out how to send you messages on here, and I will send you my e-mail.
  5. All I have left now is just getting my shots this coming Monday, and buying the scrubs. I got my stethoscope and blood pressure kit at the metro tech where I took my CNA class. Thats awesome that you and your gf are going through nursing school togethor. I bet that really helps you to keep on track, and someone to share your interest with. I will take any info you can share, that would help me immensely!!! Im so curious to know about the program. Thats a plus that the information will be easier to digest, and not be abstract like the concepts in the prereqs. Is there any way we could chat in private, I got alot of questions to ask! lol
  6. I did mine awhile back at the YMCA for the AED/ CPR which is approved by the AHA. It was 4 hours, and the test was 20 questions afterwords. I had to take it for a cna class, so I would assume it would be legit. The license is good for 2 years. Hows everything coming along with your to do list? Ive been doing some reading on the forum, and I am thinking about buying some books to prepare for how to study for nursing school. I have like no idea what nursing school will be like, except from what I have read on the forum!!!
  7. I recieved mine today too. I got accepted in, and I think I barely made it because I calculated my score up to a 91. Im relieved I am in now, and I can relax and have an awesome Thanksgiving. Woohoo!!! Im grateful that I finally made it, now I got the next half of the battle which is making it through nursing school. So now Im just going to relax, and take it easy till nursing school starts.
  8. I called the nursing dept. today, and asked if the letters had been mailed. The lady said that they have not been mailed yet, but will be mailed this week or next week to my dismay. The suspense is killing me lol!!!
  9. oh finally, its good to know the wait is about over!! Tell us when your letter has arrived. I know I'm going to be checking my mailbox every afternoon for that letter. I was thinking about calling myself, thanks for the info!!
  10. The wait has been long indeed, but Im thinking we should get letters this coming week. I am a little more relaxed about it now that I know its right around the corner. Hang in there Cici, and good luck. I know if I dont get in this semester theres things I can work on to eventually get in. Im just trying to stay focused, and keep a good attitude. I know nursing school is so competitive, and can bring me down. Im glad to have found this site, and to see all the input from all the other future to be nurses going through the same motions. I hope your situation gets better Cici, and you get back on your feet soon!!!!!!
  11. Golly, I was thinking it could be soon when letters started coming since were into November now. Now it could be another 3 weeks till letters arrive. I wonder if the pool is big this year, or if this is normally the length it takes to get acceptance letters out...
  12. From what someone said on here when they applied they did not recieve their letters till the second week of november. I know OCCC's deadline to apply for the 2012 spring semester is mid september, so that is a couple weeks before OSU-OKC's deadline to apply. If OSU took as long as OCCC from their deadline though, they could have the letters sent at the end of next week hopefully! Im worried I wont get in from my points being on the cusp. Boohoo Yet I still remain hopeful, and keeping the ol fingers crossed!
  13. No clue, have you gotten a letter acknowledging that you applied yet, or do we just get one letter letting us know if we get accepted or declined?
  14. Yeah, the waiting is hard. Especially when Im right on the cusp of the cutoff from last semesters nursing program! Does anyone know around when the acceptance letters will start getting mailed?
  15. I just applied for the spring 12 nursing program at osu-okc. the deadline is this monday to do so...does anyone know what the last points cutoff was. From what I have read it keeps getting higher and higher every semester. i think i have a grand total of 91 pts, hopefully thats enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
