  1. Hey! I was just wondering when you graduated and when you took your NCLEX - were you offered the job before passing your NCLEX?
  2. Hi everyone! For those of you who are working as a nursing attendant while in school and have overnight shifts..how is that working out? Is it hard to juggle that while in school?
  3. I submitted my deposit on Friday, but haven't received an email yet regarding my NYU email address. I called admissions yesterday, and they said I should have it by Wednesday (and if I don't then to call them back). It sounds like it takes a few days from the time you put down the deposit.
  4. SBorn -- According to the info NYU sent you have three weeks to the day to let them know if you accept or reject the offer.
  5. I agree! I can't say I had the most stellar GPA when applying (definitely did better in my prerequisites than my undergrad GPA!), but it really seems like the school looks at the candidate from a holistic approach. Also, I applied back in January for this fall semester (lol, #overeager), so I'm thinking that may be why I heard back early. I do think they send out notifications on Tuesdays and Thursdays from reading past year's posts. Next week will bring some good news! Everyone enjoy their weekend!! :)
  6. I was accepted this morning! I know good news will come to you all soon!!!
  7. Just checking -- did anyone hear back yet? The wait is killing me!
  8. I've asked the admissions office about the LORs showing up on Albert. They said there's no spot for them, so don't worry if they're not showing up. Your best bet is to call them and they can confirm "We have a LOR from XYZ..."
  9. I called this morning just to get an idea of a timeline for when we'd hear back. They said anytime between April 1st and June 15th (not too specific!) Hopefully we all hear back earlier rather than later. Good luck to all! :)
  10. Hi! So, I actually called this morning, because I applied in January and it said "regular decision" on the email I received. The admissions member I spoke to said that the email is just a template, so to disregard that it says "regular decision."
  11. Thank you for responding!! I actually called the financial aid office, and because I'm an "independent" I didn't include any of my parent's financial info.
  12. Hi, all! Question -- has anyone started/submitted their FAFSA yet? I'm listing myself as an independent, but it said you might want to list your parent(s) financial information if you are a healthcare student (including nursing). Not sure if I should include my parents' info. Any advice? Maura
  13. @charming_kitty I submitted my application for the Fall 2015 cohort about two weeks ago. I actually never applied for the Spring 2015 -- I was just on the thread to find out more info about the application progress/how long it took for people to hear back/etc. I guess I was just a little over eager to find out info! lol
  14. @sz1991 - It took a week or so for mine to show up (also, NYU was closed because of the snow for a day, so that probably slowed things down.) If you call the admissions office they're pretty responsive on letting you know they have it. I'm sure they have it marked down, and that it will be updated soon on Albert!
  15. Thank you & @sz1991! I spoke to someone in admissions on Friday and they have it luckily!
  16. Hi! To those of you that have already applied - I sent in my letter of recommendation with my transcripts. On Albert it's noting that they received my transcripts (the boxes are all checked off), but the LOR isn't even listed/checked off. I was wondering if there's a delay in posting the LOR, or maybe they don't even list it on Albert? Thank you!
  17. @danrutgers would you mind PM his email as well? Thank you!
  18. Hi! Happy 2015, everyone! Is anyone still waiting for a decision?
  19. Hey everyone, Congrats to those who have heard back with good news, and good luck to those who are still waiting. I'm curious as to what other schools and programs people have applied to within NJ/NY/CT/PA? In addition to NYU, I'm looking at Pace, Seton Hall, and Rutgers. What other schools are you considering?
  20. @danrutgers thanks so much! That's super helpful info. Best of luck with the two remaining classes, and congrats again!!
  21. @danrutgers & @lagirl_1989 -- I feel your pain! I've been taking prereqs since I graduated from college, too! @danrutgers --- I was thinking about taking my remaining prerequisite classes at NYU, but I work full-time, and as far as I could tell they didn't offer night classes. Are you still planning on working while finishing classes at NYU? Congrats, by the way!
  22. Hi All, Just a general question - for those of you who opted into NYU housing -- how much does that come out to per semester?
  23. This is SO helpful - thank you! I agree with DigitalBobby...it seems like Rutgers has many additional prerequisites compared to other ASBN programs! Can I ask -- what was the course you took online at Atlantic Cape Community College to fulfill the prereq for Interpersonal Communications? Thank you!
  24. Just a random question - how much is the deposit? $500?
  25. For those of you who got good news today -- congratulations! To everyone else waiting -- good luck! I'm wondering if anyone who applied to the program took any of their prerequisite courses as an ONLINE course OR a HYBRID course (where 1/2 the class is online, and the other is in-person). I have to sign up for my Microbiolo gy course tomorrow, and it looks like the in-person classes are almost filled, but there is a hybrid course offered where the lab is in-person, and the lecture is online. I emailed NYU and they said that "Prerequisite courses taken in a classroom setting will be more competitive than prerequisite courses taken online. You may certainly take microbiology online if that is your only option. The only course we do not accept online is Chemistry." I really don't want to hurt my chances on getting in by taking a hyrbid course if that will make me less competitive... Any thoughts/advice from anyone who applied/has already heard back?? Thanks!!
