  1. Thank you, I will definitely check into the preceptor situation before enrolling in a program. I guess at this point, my question is more to narrow down which programs to look into, and then I will start the legwork of speaking with advisors and contacting the appropriate people in Germany.
  2. Hello! I am wanting to apply for an FNP program but am unsure which to go with due to my situation. My husband is going to be stationed in Germany for 3-4 years so I will be going with him. I will need to find an online program, with very few or no site visits required. I'm not picky about whether it is a master's or DNP program at this point. I also am not sure about the clinical requirements. I'm assuming that I will be able to complete clinicals at the military hospitals/clinics, but have not confirmed that with anyone yet. I also am hoping for a program that isn't TOO expensive, as I will be paying out of pocket, or taking out loans when available. Anyone have any suggestions on a program that would fit this criteria? Has anyone done clinicals abroad? Thank you so much!
  3. You shouldn't have any problem finding a job. I just moved to Phoenix about a month ago and had 2 job offers almost immediately. I only have a year of ED experience (and a year of med-surg) but am still finishing my RN to BSN program, which I expected would be the biggest problem finding a job. A few of the ED's are even offering up to 10,000 sign on bonus's. I think as long as you have that year of experience and the certifications, you will be snatched up quick.
  4. @mmtorrez89 I have been looking at their job postings but haven't seen any ED jobs yet. When are they supposed to be expanding?
  5. Thanks for the response! From the research that I've done, it does seem like St. Josephs is a great workplace, and has some pretty good benefits.
  6. Hello! I am moving to Glendale in 3 weeks and need to start job hunting. I noticed a thread from 2006 about Phoenix hospitals but none recently, so it's time to start a new one! I have about 2 years of nursing experience and enjoy working in the Emergency Department. Anywhere in the Phoenix area will work! I would like to find a hospital that has good employee satisfaction and retention and possibly even offers tuition assistance. Any advice (or hospitals to stay away from)? Thanks!! :)
  7. I do actually have about a year of ED experience, so that would be perfect. I was contemplating going to Dallas to do travel nursing since that is all I have seen openings for, but my husband really wants me to stay in Wichita, so everything is up in the air right now. Lol are you working for United Regional?
  8. What did you end up doing? I am in the same type of situation, husband being tranferred to Sheppard for less than 6 months, and am trying to find some sort of short term or travel nursing position in Wichita Falls. Any advice? Thanks!
  9. I am a 4th semester nursing student with a 2 hour presentation assigned to cover the topics of legal and ethical issues in nursing. I have most of the presentation finished, but cannot think of any class activities other than questions and case studies. Anybody have any different or fun ideas? Thank you :)
