  1. You can do it! I did both A&P's together over a summer session. Just don't miss a class and study everyday effectively (flash cards and what not). Good luck, you have this.
  2. OP, don't stress. In Fall 2009, I had extenuating circumstances that prevented me from attending classes mid-way through. I couldn't withdraw by then so I flunked A&P I, Chem I, and English II, all nursing prerequisites. One year later, when my situation was under control, I retook these three classes and completed an additional 70 credit hours of subject material with A's and a couple B's. I have since been accepted to a program this coming fall. I felt, as you do now, that my chances were blown. I believe if you do well in micro, you have a good chance of being accepted. If you aren't, no biggie. Just retake the A&P and score an A. Even if the school averages it, that's a B. Good luck and I wish you the best.
  3. I just took the HCC pharmacology final exam today. How well you do in the class is contingent upon the amount of independent study you put in. You are assigned chapters to read every week. In order to do well, you must read ahead of schedule. There is a lot of information to cover in a short amount of time. You must learn drug classifications, drug-drug interactions, drug adverse effects, simple nursing diagnoses, patient teaching, math pertaining to the administration of said drugs and, of course, generic names. The class meets once weekly. My professor mostly read from a power point which certainly wasn't the most helpful or stimulating lecture I've endured, but I still managed to get a low A in the class. This class demands independent study time, all of which is from the book (no apps required). You will have online quizzes to take, but they are affiliated with the text book and only require Internet Explorer or Mozilla (no Chrome :S). I suggest utilizing this website, quizlet(.)com, to create flash cards and generate practice tests for yourself. Good luck in your future education!
  4. Maybe, but I'm pretty sure most everyone who applied is currently taking full time classes. I know I am. Plus, I've got some more abstract courses on my record like Trig, Physics, Organic Chemistry and Calculus AB/BC college credit from taking the AP exams. Made all A's except in Orgo cause it's pretty ridiculous. I took A&P i &II in the same summer1 semester (made A's in both) and I took basic chem and Micro simultaneously (along with 2 other courses) and made all A's. I don't think FT status has much to do with it.
  5. Thanks. Well generic could mean either, really. I think we're all a little stressed, mostly because of the purgatorial predicament in which many of us find ourselves. Are we in or not? Are we waiting for nothing or will answers come tomorrow? It's worse than NOT being accepted lol. Regardless, it will be quite amusing if they do accept the rest of the applicants this week. We can all laugh it up over how we nearly lost our minds waiting for the official word.

  7. I remember last semester there being many more people who posted to the forum that they'd gotten in. Hemphia, were you accepted to the Pacesetter or the traditional program? Maybe they just started doing status updates for the Pacesetters? Just a thought.. after all so many people have awesome grades and I'm shocked that so few have posted they were accepted.
  8. Noooo. Too much school, too much money. Time and money are serious issues for a broke college student like myself. I got into HCC's nursing program for Fall* 2012* which has a less stringent application process and is about 1/4th the cost. I shan't despair. I had the opportunity last semester to attend UTH, but I turned it down for dreams of travelling around India that never came to fruition. I figure if I attend HCC, it costs ~$4000 then I could do the online RN-BSN bridge at UTMB (roughly another $4000) that still saves me a cool 8 grand that I wouldn't have had going to UTHSC. In this way, I can rationalize my disappointment over rejection and move on to a more positive mental state. Not going to lie, I'm mad jelly over everyone who got in, but I'm proud of you guys. You earned it :w00t:
  9. Grats to everyone accepted. Bah! Still no word for me either. Prereq GPA: 3.9 Science: 4.0 Hesi: 95% and CT: 880 My grades are top.. What's a girl to do?
  10. Post first letters of last names please, so we can get an idea of maybe where they're at.
  11. Unless the UTHSC registrar is going to come in over the weekend to update statuses, I doubt anymore updates will be performed before Monday. Last semester they updated it over the midweek, so everyone found out within 2 consecutive days. Too bad they started on a Friday this time.
  12. Last semester, it took 2 days for everyone's statuses to be updated. Wait til Monday and you'll see.
  13. Well there goes that theory lol
  14. Congratulations hemphia and mandorojo!
  15. lol much prefer regular wasted
  16. Ahh. That's right! I'd forgotten- The background and drug test holds came later. Well, these hold updates could be meaningless then. But I still have a feeling...
  17. liilou do you remember anyone from last semester getting hold updates but were not accepted to the program?
  18. My holds from UTLink were not transferred to the newer myUTH portal. The holds I see today are new.
  19. I agree with you for the most part. Though, based on previous semesters, UTH does have a pretty consistent track record of updating holds before updating acceptance statuses. Again, this was for most people. I can't remember anyone from last year who had hold changes and were not accepted. At the same time I don't remember anyone being accepted without hold changes; this doesn't mean that it hasn't happened of course. Later today or Monday would be the soonest we'd see status changes. The registrars office isn't there on the weekends or past 5pm weekdays to update. Here's to hoping for further confirmation soon.
  20. I don't know. I didn't check it yesterday.
  21. also, i applied last semester and they definitely updated our statuses in alphabetical order. i know because another person in my stats class applied and she had the same first letter in her last name and our statuses updated simultaneously. everyone was posting their last name letters and it was alphabetized. my last name is an r. ***i should edit this because this statement it not entirely true. the status updates were mostly alphabetized. a few people were updated out of order. i don't want anyone to lose hope completely.
  22. Your stats are too good not to have gotten in. If you don't have a hold change today, you may want to inquire as to why you've never received an eval. Maybe their calculation of your GPA differs from yours. Are you missing anything for your application? I know it seems silly to ask, but you never know. Talk to them. Your scores are awesome.
  23. 2 new holds on my account. immunization and health form holds. it reads: a certification of immunization form must be on file with student health services before enrollment is allowed. please see your to do list for more information. this happened last semester. i think it means we're in.
  24. I think by monday April 16th, everyone should know.
  25. Congrats all you guys accepted to UTHSC already! :w00t:
