  1. Yay so proud of us all--I can't believe it's finally happening! Yep, I'll be commuting with my best friend (she's been accepted too)! I'm sure there must be a couple more of us in OC?? Omg I can hardly sleep due to the excitement of school starting! Does your application status still read 'final review'? Mine does :-/ Congratulations, I'm so proud of us all!!! :-)
  2. Congratulations, girls!!!!! We're all in this together---can't wait to meet you all on 12/8!!!!! So, now what?? How does all this financial aid stuff work?
  3. Not a peep!!!! I have a feeling that we will hear something on Wednesday or Thursday this week....I can't wait!!!!! We've got this, girls...we can do it! BSN here we come!!! :redpinkhe:heartbeat I'll be working another 12 hour shift tomorrow, and it is so tough checking email--yikes! I'm gonna look out for your posts to see if you've heard anything! Best of luck to us all :heartbeat
  4. Maybe they're reviewing alphabetically...I'm at the beginning of the alphabet. I got a response that they have yet to schedule sn orientation date--yikes! I'm gonna stay hopeful that we're all in this together and gonna graduate with our BSN!
  5. Hi Erin :) Yay another anxious applicant!! I've heard nothing yet except the status of my application still reads final review. My friend who also applied to the program still reads 'submitted' and she's got more points than I, so please know that 'submitted' simply just means they're still reviewing :) I'm so nervous--this waiting is driving me bananas! Are you living in San Diego? Do you think we'll hear anything today? How did you do on the teas? Excited to have you here with us!
  6. Btw, I totally understand you not wanting to return and take the test--I almost didn't. Thankfully I did, and scored better than the previous week (not by much though). I didn't rewrite the essay, I was concerned for the same reasons you were I really hope we make it in...inthink there are between 35-45 applicants. I think my points prior to the essay are around 70, I'm hoping to at least have a shot :-/ I guess it all comes down to that dreaded essay! Eek.
  7. I didn't even catch your typo--I guess I should pay more attention to my reading skills! Ick, I would hope we wouldn't have to pay more for ATI! Yikes. Do you have any idea when orientation is? I sent an email on Monday due to holiday work scheduling, but haven't heard a peep back
  8. Haha I think I replied to that from my phone while just waking up--I hope we both get in, too! We'll have to get the OC gals together and be carpool/study buddies! Are you working as an LVN now? I'm not. I work at a local hospital as a CNA/PCT--it's gonna be tough while in school, but I'm sure there are plenty of us doing the same thing
  9. Oh yay---I'm hoping they tell us by the end of October! I wonder if we would have the same orientation?? I'm gonna stay positive and hope for the best (and enjoy the weekend) Did they send you your packet yet of class days, etc.? I think we'll be in school 2-3 days a week, right? (staying positive) I'm looking forward to meeting all you gals in real life as BSN students! :redpinkhe
  10. I've noticed that the status of my application switched from 'submitted' to 'final review' last night. Does anyone know how long it takes once that status appears to find out if we are accepted or denied? I'm on pins and needles here!!!! :hdvwl:
  11. Okay good--mine says that too! Omg I wonder when we'll find out?! She said sometime in the last week of October, so I'm hoping next week? Did you read the thread about the changing guidelines for NU's program?
  12. I was wondering if your application status changed at all? Ugh I'm going crazy as the time gets closer...yikes!
  13. Yay for there being another one of us--and an OC girl, too!! Yeah, I'm totally on pins and needles sitting here...we're getting much closer to an answer, it just seems like we've been waiting forever! I wish you the best of luck. If you did well on everything else, I can't imagine you'd write a poor essay--I'm sure you'll be just fine :) I think there were 40ish applicants, our odds are at least better than going against 240, right?
  14. 3.2 is not a bad gpa, you should be able to get into programs as long as you are proficient on your entrance exams, interview well, and write a decent essay. i've noticed that nursing schools really look down on repeated core science (pre-requisite) classes--i don't suggest repeating. also, you should look into volunteering at a local hospital to gain experience--this can help boost your nursing resume and application :) just be patient and persistent in your dream to become a nurse--it'll happen!! :)
  15. I saw that in her email and wondered the same??! Omg if I don't get in with y'all I'm just gonna cry!!! I want to know now!!!!!!!! Where is everyone in my cohort--not ONE person has posted a peep. Ugh.
  16. I mean, I feel that it was okay. I was pretty happy with it, but I don't know what I'm up against...that's the tough part. I'd like to think that it was at the very least worth a 15/20...but I'd hope for better :) Will we ever find out our grades?! Is anyone commuting from Orange County??
  17. Ohhhh that's good news!!!! Do you feel that you did well on the essay? I'm wondering how they grade them? Oh I'm just so excited for you guys...I hope I'm there in January, too! We can all become forum friends to real life school friends! Haha I'm jumping the gun, just trying to remain positive Congrats, NU cohort 29!!! :)
  18. Awesome!! Congratulations to you all!!! How exciting :) Omg I hope y'all don't ditch this thread...I'm stuck here solo until the end of October! I'm at 70 points prior to essay...I think you were all at 73 and 74, how about you, kamoranto? I'm happy for you guys--hooray!! You can finally breathe!
  19. any news?
  20. As of this afternoon, my status still reads 'submitted' ---this is going to be a long month!
  21. Are you referring to the area on the TEAS Individual Performance Profile page that reads Mean-National and Mean-Program? If so, I don't think that actually means National University. I thought it did at first, but when I read further, it described it differently. My friend and I compared our scores (she's at another university) and the percentages were the same. I found this on the 'Score Explanation and Interpretation' page of our TEAS results: Mean - National: The national mean is the average of the individual scores of all test takers of your program type (within a specified sample from the ATI data pool) for this assessment. The national mean includes all program types. Mean - Program: The program mean is the average of the individual scores of all test takers of your program type (within a specified sample from the ATI data pool) for this assessment. Percentile Rank - National: The national percentile rank refers to the proportion of test takers from all types of nursing programs (within a specified sample from the ATI data pool) whose scores are the same as or lower than your individual score. Percentile Rank - Program: The program percentile rank refers to the proportion of test takers from your specific type of nursing program (within a specified sample from the ATI data pool) whose scores were the same as or lower than your individual score. So, I don't think we actually know what NU's average is unless we ask--I wonder if they'll give us an answer? I think the whole 'National University' name confused me while interpreting results. I don't know if I'm even making sense, but I hope I am
  22. What does your status currently read? Mine still reads 'submitted.' I'm sure they're getting all yours processed before working on LVN cohort, your deadline was a month before ours and your deadline to reapply in next week--ours isn't for quite some time as the program is just once a year
  23. Hooray--that's great news!! Omg in just a few days you'll all know!! I'm sending many positive vibes for us all :) I wonder what the average scores for acceptance are?? Also, will we not know how we did on essays until we actually are either accepted or denied? How does everyone feel they did on the essay?
  24. Oh good, less applicants is much better--yay! Okay, so you will be getting your letters of acceptance this week (thinking positive) and I'll be stuck another month... Yes, I'm working at a hospital in Orange County (where I live) as a PCT. The hospital doesn't employ LVN's, but it's where i want to work as an RN. Thankfully, my boss says she'll do her best to work with me once I'm accepted to a program, so I can at least practice my LVN skills I've got a little one who keeps me fairly busy, as well. Are you working? How many children do you have? It sounds like you're busy, too! I wonder if we will all have some classes together...this is all so exciting (providing we're accepted) Did your application status ever read 'submitted'?
