North Central Texas College, Gainesville (LVN-to-RN)
I hope you found an answer to your question seems like there are very few Texas nurses on here and fewer transitioning from LVN to RN so as i have found out this may not be the best resource to search for answers. Good luck and i hope you get into the program.

Searching For LVN- RN Bridge Program DFW
I appreciate your comment and I am aware of the board website ..but what im trying to find out more specifically is if the approved programs in DFW have a waiting list or not. And generally experiences of Nurses trying to get into either of these programs. Information that is not usually displayed on the school website.

Help I think med-surg is gonna kill me
Lol...we've all been there study hard , listen in class record it if you can and there's this lil book called LPN notes by Ehren Myers if you have it i suggest going through it on your down time in addition to whatever content you have. Its real good and breaks down a lot of stuff to what you need to know...you'll be alright . Med Surg is tough but you can do it...wait till you get to OB/L&D/Pedi's that's when the fun starts.

Why are Coworkers Discouraging me from doing my LPN
RN will take you a minimum of 2 years IF you already have the required pre requisites and if there is no waiting list. Whereas LPN will take you about a year with the added benefit that while working and gaining nursing experience you will earn significantly better pay than your current CNA job and you can bridge to RN which will take you about 15 to 18 months . Another benefit is depending on your employer they may pay for your tuition to bridge so you save on student loans. If there are Long Term Care Facilities in your city you can always get a job as new LVN and with some experience you may get you a hospital job too. Dont let people discourage you do your research and stick with the FACTS. Everyone has a different perspective but facts are facts. I say start as an LVN and continue to your RN.

Any info on this LVN school?
No financial aid...they have a pretty new program it just got approval last year i believe so they should be graduating their first set of nurses this year.Personally speaking i would rather go with a more established school...as opposed to being a Guinea pig.Check out NCTC and Concorde..they both have decent programs.

LPN to RN fast track in Texas or Oklahoma??
Hi i just recently passed my NCLEX PN and im looking to further my career but id rather do it on campus than online.. with that being said does anyone know of any bridge or fast track programs either in Texas or Oklahoma that (a) Does not require any prerequisites ( b) Does not have a waiting list...im based in the DFW area in Texas so needless to say i would rather remain here but i have family in Oklahoma so that's also an option.. all the community colleges here seem to have either a long waiting list or a long list of prerequisites any suggestions would be welcome..asides Platt College please thanks....

For those of you that went through this program can you suggest means of funding or tell us how you did it....?I just took the Wonderlic Test and passed it only to find out that my credit union wont offer me a loan to finance this...something about debt/income ratio and needing a cosigner. What other options are available to me as far as financing? How did you finance it? Thanks in advance.
