Hi all! i have a quick question and am looking for some suggestions! im working right now on my pre-reqs to apply to school for my Bachelors in Psych Nursing program (we have that here in Canada) but one of the things they look for is hours of volunteering in places that kind of are along the same line dealing with mental health..... but my problem is i cant think of any places that would actually take volunteers in those kind of settings. I know most of you are from the states, but even just a broad suggestion of what i can check out might help me! Thanks in advanced!! :) Marilynj

sorry it took me so long to respond lol i do like you! :) Up here in canada, western provinces anyways, they offer 3 year dipolma psych nursing degrees, and 4 year bachelors of psych nursing degrees. do they not do them down in the states?? im still working hard on upgrading my bio12...now just have to do chem11, english12, and math11. yikes!! i should have listened to my mom when she would say 'your going to wish you had done better in highschool!' when i ditched all those classes lol. and thanks everyone for your responses! i really appreciated them. :)

hello everyone! i have been lurking for a while, working on upgrading my high school courses so i can apply to the Psych nursing program (bachelors) im sorry if this is the wrong place, but its where i spend all my time lol anways, i was just wondering if anyone here had gone back to school for this in their 30s? im at a cross roads because it is a 4 year full-time course, but its something that i really want to do! everytime i read the boards i wish i would have figured this all out in my early twentys, but i guess its the experiances that i have had through out them that has brought me to this path. any comments from 'older' students that did this also would be greatly appreciated! once again, i apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but i figured it belonged here because its about this specific career.
