I am in too. I start May 29th and ends in July 23rd (I think). I am taking this as an elective right now in hopes to one day change my major over to a health related degree when I have completed my BA (I have a little over a year before I complete my current BA). Let me say that I am so very nervous about this class!!! I have a 3.56 GPA at my University and I am taking this AP at a community college and I KNOW that I am going to drop my GPA. EEEK.

A lot of the colleges require you to take bio and chem in order to take A&P but the college that I found online does not require that. So I was able to skip two of the classes right off the bat. I contacted my school and found out if the course would transfer (it will because it is from a community college) and now I am on my way. I am sure that it is going to be harder for me since I will not have the bio and chem behind me but I am set on making this work!! I have been at this for what seems like forever. Nursing has always been in the back of my mind and I kept putting it on hold. I never realized that I set myself up for the nursing program without even thinking about it. When I called my school this past week and found out that I had taken all the courses needed (other than the two) I about fell off my chair. Good luck! :)

I am two years in to my bachelors degree in Psychology and have decided to switch over to nursing. Since I have all of my gen ed requirements for the bachelor degree they will transfer over (at least to my school) and all I need to take are A&P I and II (which I found online combined and today was my first day of class) and Microbiology. The rest are nursing courses that are in the program. If I were you I would start getting the pre-reqs out of the way. I know at my school the ASN program is crazy full and competitive, however the BSN program is not as competitive because people want in and out in two years. Well for us that have the bachelor gen ed requirements it will only take us two years as well, but we will have a BSN. I start my nursing program next fall (I missed the cut off for this fall) and will be done in 2014. However, I will have all the gen ed and pre-reqs done while there will be some people that have a couple to finish up. If I can do it, you can do it!!

I know how you feel. I have been working on a degree in a different field and have just decided to switch gears and got for a nursing degree. I found out last week that all of my general education requirements will transfer over to the nursing program and all I have to take are A&P I and II (which I found a class that offers them together in one class online with lab) and Microbiology (which I start in October and take through December). So since I have a 3.7 GPA and only two classes left to do before the nursing program I will be applying this month. My advisor said that my file is highly competitive. So if all goes right I will start the nursing program (with all gen eds and pre reqs done) Fall 2012 (I missed this deadline) and will have my BSN in 2014. Today was my first day of A&P online and there is SO much to learn!! Holy cow! I am so nervous!
