  1. I usually wear a pair of black leather Sperrys, I like them because they are comfortable (my feet never hurt) and they are super slip resistant which really comes in handy. A few times I have worn my Nike Tennis shoes but they are not nearly as comfortable and make it difficult when the floor is wet.
  2. I did the RN program
  3. Im in the process of going to ODU now all of my classes from MCI transferred even the chemistry class
  4. As part of orientation to my unit they hd us watch atleast one joint replacement in person I was surprised my patients arnt in more pain than they are after seeing that
  5. MCI's registered nursing program is accredited and the credits (after graduation) will transfer to atleast ODU I know. It may be said that the program is overpriced but you also have to take into account that this price includes books and that the program is fast-paced so to some people that may ad value. They have a good selection of teachers who are very knowledgeable on their subjects and the small class sizes make it easy to get more personal attention. By choosing this route you can get your A.A.S. and then get a job and work while you achieve your BSN from the school of your choice. With all that being said I think for someone recently graduating it may be more beneficial to go the traditional route as long as she can deal with the possible waiting lists ...but just make sure that wherever she decides to go has their accreditation http://www.nlnac.org/forms/directorySearch.asp **Oh and as far as local hospitals rarely hiring nurses from MCI's program I had a job within a week and a half of passing my NCLEX
  6. If your classes like A&P1 or 2 micro English ect. Transfer then you will just be on break pretty much until nursing concepts 1. And your tuition should be a bit lower as a result. MCI is an accredited school so they rate their GPA scores like any other accredited school (not sure what you are asking there really) as far as acceptance they base it off of your TEAS scores and your performance during pre-reqs as well as a paper. I know the next start date for our mod is 12/19 but I don't believe that there is another program start darte until January (4 per year)
  7. Pretty easy its just the basics
  8. The lowest grade I got was in chemistry ... that was a 97 I believe I aced math and computers and my teas were high 80s low nintys I don't remember the exact numbers ... anatomy is tough LOTs more studying than I anticipated
  9. Yea the prereqs are all pretty easy I think the lowest score I got was a 98 and I never even had to study. Wait till you get to A&P though a real wake up call I have to study a minimum of 4 hours a day just to get through it. its tough stuff I hear half of the students for nights are failing it and I believe two students from my class will most likely fail
  10. Yea roads were clear ... I work at home depot part time ATM and lots of people returned generators but also lots and lots of people bought them (sold about 30 today)
  11. MCI is accredited by the NLNAC to its bachelors degree program ... but something that i would be leary of is the NLN's website specificly states "ECPI University-Virginia Beach" so im not sure that the NN campus is accredited
  12. Thanks was a pretty good time not too long and drawn out ... they kept talking about the failing procedures... but I worked this hard and was this lucky to get in im not going to flush my chance down the drain haha
  13. Excited to Start class monday :) I hope we still have class and I can get to it ... picked up my A&P book today yay! excited! stay safe with the storm ... I have a good vantage point of the whole thing (high ground, not too many trees)
  14. Im 22 I start school monday as long as we are still here (in Virginia Beach, VA btw)
  15. We are in Hampton Roads my mom is an RN for the City of Norfolk and she has to report to Granby High School to lead the shelter there ... I am still in nursing school however so I just have to sit at home and enjoy watching things blow past
