  1. I would recommend working full time for at least another year. repetative experinces will help your anxiety. once u have been doing ob for a while you will will be able to trust your instincts. even though not every situatoin is the same, there are limited number of things that will most likely go wrong at a low risk hospital. if you have enough exposure, it will become second nature.
  2. Most are ok, but they seemm to try to steal the experience from their daughter and make it about them. my dd has not had kids yet, but i hope to take some lessons from my patients families. i treat them all well, as i do everyone. but i find the most drama comes from the pts mom. its probably the natureto be over protective.
  3. yeah...pretty much. i had one the other day call a nurse at hime (i have no idea how she got her number) to ***** about how her daughter didnt want her in the delivery room and her mean night nurse (me) did nothing about it...
  4. if u know its not for you, you should look for another job. its very expensive to train a new l&d nurse and if you werent commited to that field i think it would be unfair to waste the money and the time. also, so many nurses DO want to work in that field, so an oppurtunity for them can open up. good luck!
  5. This makes me feel weird too and I consider myself pro-choice. I had IVF done and knew the risk of having twins ( i implanted 2 embryos). and i accepted taht "risk" and I am so glad i did, because 36 weeks later I had the most wonderful set og b/g twins. I think i would understand if the twins were a naturally occuring pregnancy more but when u go thru fertilitly stuff u are counselled thouroughly on having multiples.
