  1. Thanks! Our state's mandatory 3 skills were: handwashing, taking BP, & transferring with gait belt. (I'm not sure if this is the same for other states?) My 2 random skills were: taking oral temp & brushing dentures. I was so relieved when I got those 2 because I usually have the worst luck. Murphy's Law almost always applied to my situtations. I was dreading that I might have to do peri care & making an occupied bed. I'm glad the exam is finally over! Now... time to find a job...
  2. Our testing proctors weren't too strict about the exact order. Just as long as we washed our hands before performing the skill. You could just say that you have washed your hands before entering the resident's room. For example: Verbalize (or perform) that you have washed your hands before entering the room. Perform the opening procedure (introduce, check name band, explain what you're going to do, etc). Tell the resident that you will leave for a moment to wash your hands (yes, again) & gather your supplies. Return to the resident, close the curtain, check that the bed is locked, & raise the bed. THEN you put on your gloves & perform the skill. I hope this helps. Good luck! :)
  3. I PASSED! It was very nerve wrecking, but I knew I had to remain calm & focused. Our proctors always reminded us to breathe. Hahaha. Thanks EduardoLugo for replying! I hope you passed as well!
  4. Hello everyone! As the title says, my exam is in 2 days and I'm not so confident in myself with the skills part of the exam. I'm one of the last in my class who hasn't taken the exam yet and I don't want to be the only one who fails... I've been studying and studying and studying, trying to remember what supplies I need and the critical points for each skill. But, I have really bad test anxiety and I'm afraid of blanking out during the exam. I'm located in Hawaii and I was wondering if anyone else had taken their exam here? How is the process? I've asked my classmates about the examination process but their explanations were so vague and unhelpful. Any words of advice or encouragement would be so helpful. ~Aloha!
