  1. I would be interested, too, in finding how much they pay the LPNs? In Broward county?
  2. Anyone working in SOuth Florida? Job prospects here? It seems LPN's are being fazed out of hospitals and do more LTC and Home Health? Would that be an accurate assumption? Am looking for a career change.
  3. Hello...I am looking into a career change and have been interested in nursing. I thought I would start with the LPN program and then later get my RN degree. I thought it might be a better transition for me, as I do not work in the healthcare field now and I am terrified of the NCLEX exam!!..specifically medical math!..I am great at science, but math- not so much. Anyone else with this issue--how did you do on your exam? How much harder is the NCLEX-RN, as opposed to the NCLEX-LPN? Althought, the length of LPN programs I have looked into also fit into my schedule better, and there seem to be several bridge programs for LPN to RN transition. Any experience with this? Would it be a waste of time and money to do it like this? I was thinking that it might be easier, financially and also learning, by breaking it up? I could also get some real world experience by working as an LPN first, which might make the RN transition program easier?? I also wanted to know what the job market is in South Florida for LPN's. What would be the entry level salary rate for a new graduate, no experience? I don't want to invest lots of money into loan and not be able to work. Schools in South Florida? Any experience with some of the private health care schools. I have heard people say stay away from them, as they do not provide a quality education. Any help would be great.
