  1. Thank you for the post. I love reading other peoples stories on how they got into school. Motivates me!!
  2. Was just curious which grades weight more heavily when you apply to CRNA school. I finished my associates in nursing with a 3.0 but I am in the process of completing my BSN and by the time I apply my GPA will be around 3.6 (with one more semester to go). Do you think I will be "competitive" or an average student? Thanks for your input.
  3. I took mine today. 75 questions 40 mins. When I left I kinda knew I didn't totally bomb it. I felt good when I walked out. Went home and got the good pop up. I told myself i wasn't getting past 75q lol when I did practice questions I would do no more than 75 lol. I would have freaked if it kept going after 75 ??
  4. I have an interview for a RN- grad position in the NICU on Wednesday!!! I was just wondering if I could get any advice. Also I have asked tons of people for letters of recommendations and I got 5 I'm things that's too much. What do you guys think. And when do I give my letters of recommendations in the beginning of the interview or at the end Any advice would be great! What kind of questions do you think they would ask
  5. Hi there I am entering my 3rd semester there and the scrubs are white tips and Forrest green pants. The uniform is available at Sharon's uniform in Clifton park.
  6. Yeah 2013 baby!!! I'm ready for summer to be over so I can start back up. I'm a nervous too, this is the semester when they lose most people.
  7. What are your top 5 study tips that helped you through nursing school?
  8. Hey future nurses, so I just seen the reading list for the fall semester med surg 2 I was just wondering if I should read ahead or wait before the semester starts to read. What do you guys think. I'm thinking if I read too far ahead I won't remember when it comes time to know.
  9. What is your study plan? As far has how much do you read and how much do you review a day. Do you study before class, after class, everyday, just before a test? Any answers would be helpful Thanks
  10. I wish we got our test scores right away. We have to wait a WHOLE week. Lucky you ?
  11. Yeah they do that at my school too we are not allowed to have anything out just our response sheets.
  12. Omg that's crazy when we take our CPE we are allowed to be off like 10 from the instructors BP. Can you appeal it, at our school they let us do that. We have 2 CPEs a semester and if you fail you can appeal it and take it again. A girl retook her CPE like 3 times (she failed the final at the end though) good luck to you!

That's odd we don't have to pay for ATI and they gave us a fundies, med surg, peds, and pharm book and we have online access to practice test for each subject idk maybe because I'm in a ADN program
  14. I have to take an ATI exam too (Monday) and they sent us an email saying all the material in the ATI fundamentals book (dont know if you got one) will be on the test even stuff we didn't go over.... Does your grade go toward your final exam score too
  15. Hello All I'm in nursing 2 now almost done with the semester any helpful tips for the final and next semester (I heard its the toughest) any helpful tips would be appreciated Thanks

  17. Hi I live in Albany NY and the hospital Albany med has a program called grow your own and what that is, is they'll pay for your schooling and you owe 2 yrs after. I am in that program and it is a big help. The college they are affiliated with is Hudson valley community college which is one of the best and hardest program in the area to get into. If you go in through Albany med you get in right away no matter your teas test score ( as long as you pass) and not only does Albany med pay for your tuition they also pay for all your books and uniform. You have to be a full time employee throughout school to get these benefits, but the first two semester you get one paid day off a week to study and the last two semesters you get 2 days off paid time. I hope this helps you message me if you have anymore questions
  18. HI I was just wondering if anyone can tell me their daily study plan. I need to make a study plan and needed some ideas. So if anyone can tell me what they do each week as far as reading and studying it would be helpful. Thank you!
  19. So besides the required textbooks, what other books have helped you in school Im starting Med Surg and heard Med Surg reviews and rationals was a good book and lab noted was also good during clinical Just wanted some more feedback Thanks
  20. im doing that know too (test on monday) to verify placement.. you check the ph (your looking for anything less than 5, b/c gastric secretions are acidic) you aspirate( to look for stomach contents or if they're on tube feeding you can see the actual feeding) and in our school we have to measure the tube before we do anything ie. meds or feedings to make sure it didnt migrate and if we do the air thing we have to back that up with something else like checking ph or aspirate but they said not to do that i hope some of this helps
  21. so your days now? do you like days i heard its crazier... i took a &p last yr but it was through albany med so i dont think it was me..
  22. im evening what about you?
  23. um idk i dont think so you have to take the teas test and the highest scores get in
  24. I start school in 1 WEEK and was wondering what do you learn/do in Nursing 1... and any tips fo success?
