Shift report form
I am also looking for a simple but thorough report form, I guess that I can develop one. When I worked CICU there was a format that could hold all pertinent information for 5 patients. Now I work in Quality Enhancement at a long term care facility and would like to incorporate something similar to aid in better continuity of care provided to the people that we serve. Thanks for any help,

Needing a little advice
Thanks to Aussie19 and DDRN4me. I have accepted the job as regional rn, I will start March 6th. I am looking forward to the change and new tasks. I've had one year experience working as an aid in a state school (93-94) and I have a brother that is severely MR with some Autistic characteristics. Thanks again to both of you for your time.

Vent...long, you have been warned.
REMEMBER: Can't copy charts, it is a HIPPA violation!

Vent...long, you have been warned.
Everybody always wants to write someone up! I've only found it necessary to write up any incident once in 3 1/2 years. Communication and forgiveness go a long way. If you point the finger, you'll always have 3 pointing back. Don't leave a patient in a new room without the nurse knowing. I'm a cardiac nurse, the elevated Trop and BNP are evident of CHF exacerbation/onset in need of a diuretic and K is already low at 3.2

Am I worrying over nothing?
If you are nervous, you are on the right track. Your anxiety will help keep you honest and safe. ALWAYS follow the 5 rights and 3 checks (this is a minimum)! The mistake mentioned by yankeesrule could have been avoided if she would have asked two other staff members of the patients identity. Don't waste your money on a book (your employer is responsible for keeping an up to date resource available to you). Books are out of date from the time they hit the shelves. Try the internet for medication research.

Needing a little advice
I have recently interviewed for a job titled "Regional RN." Besides chart audits and maintaining license verifications for LVN's and the doctors being used, I would be supervising 8-10 LVN's taking care of 78 patients in 13 homes (avg. 6 patients per home). I've been given an estimated salary of 45K/year, does that seem a little low? I was also told that the insurance for my family will cost 2 times what I am paying now (working in the hospital). Can anyone give me an estimate/average salary for this type of work in the great state of Texas? I've been an RN for 3 1/2 years (ADN), Just received my BSN in December of 2006.

Army CRNA program question
Is it harder to get into the CRNA program if you go ahead and get into the Army Nurse Corps first? I've read the requirements and I am wondering if it would take a lot longer that way. The recruiter said there is a fast track way of doing it. Does anyone know anything about that?

Army CRNA program question
I have read the previous posts regarding CRNA in the army. My husband is planning to apply for the army CRNA program, but he doesn't graduate with his BSN until Dec. According to the recruiter, he cannot apply for direct asseccion into the army until 6 months prior to his graduation, but this will be after the April due date for the CRNA program. Does this mean that he can't apply for the Summer 2007 class?
