Kaplan or ATI
My opinion comes from someone who spent an extra year in Nursing with horrible grades on almost every HESI Kaplan was a joke. I didn't even use their decision tree and passed 75 questions in under 45 minutes. At first I thought their decision tree was awesome until I began getting questions wrong because "the decision did not apply there" or "yes it's an airway answer but it's not the best answer" . Their questions are hard, their rationales are short and convoluted, and all they did was cause me headaches. I only recommend Kaplan if you are 100% sure on core content, the review book they send you wasn't too shabby either. Since you took Kaplan I guess you can agree. Get your refund is what I would do.

I failed NCLEX, please help me :(
More than happy to help! I had the luxury of passing the first time, but I struggled a lot in Nursing school so I know what it feels like. If you can, get your hands on LaCharity and Saunders. I'm not sure what you have to access to over in the phillipines, but try Amazon.com or something, those books are essential study tools! If anything else, we're here if you need us

looking for a good review!
When I read stories like these I always get that "Survivor's Guilt" because I never had to be in that situation of not passing NCLEX. But after nearly failing nursing school on several occassions (one instance requiring an entire year remediation), I think I can safely say "this situation must be difficult for you" (therapuetic Nursing joke). Joking aside, I did Kaplan, LaCharity, and some Saunders. Kaplan - was a joke. I think the book itself reflected a lot of topics on the exam, the questions were just very difficult with convoluted wording and rationale. ONLY DO KAPLAN IF YOU HAVE THE CONTENT IRONED OUT. All Kaplan Questions do is challenge you to think, but when I took the NCLEX I didn't even use their decision-tree and passed 75 questions in under 45 minutes. I recommend you read their book though, because a lot of the book's content I felt reflected the test. LaCharity - a must. By the time I finished parts 1 and 2 (i didn't even bother with the case studies), I felt very confident in prioritization and delegation. Highly recommend this. Saunders - I am aware that you did Saunders, but honestly how much of Saunders are you able to recall RIGHT NOW? Because that's all that matters. I know they say don't memorize for this test, but honestly there are some things you just have to internalize. That's why I say learn the content before you do Kaplan. Saunders is very indepth, and when we were in Nursing school our last semester it was the book we were tested on, so that's probably why I can recall much information from Saunders. My only suggestion is to go through each chapter one at a time, read a section, and draw a picture that has the details of each topic. Do this for meds too. For example: Tegretol - anti convulsant, side effect is thrombocytopenia (easy bleeding) I drew a picture of a seizing "tiger" because it rhymes with "tegre", clawing at a person. *Make some of the most ridiculuous things you can think of, because the utter hilarity that ensues enforces retention, especially for weak areas. Not to mention is an easy laugh for what is a difficult time in life. Or like Silver Nitrate for burn victims: drew a picture of a wolfman with burns howling in pain (they hate silver!) because silver is a very painful antiseptic. Paracentesis - drew a picture of a "centaur" with a big belly and SOB (this procedure is usually done to alleviate ascites) sitting up on the edge of a bed (proper positioning during) I can literally go all day. The fact that you went from not passing 75 to not passing 265 means YOU'RE IMPROVING. The computer took more time to make the decision because you were getting more questions right the second time. Take 4 weeks and attack those three books I mentioned to you, take the 5th week more lightly and review what you have learned. Go out, pamper yourself. Days before the test I brewed a beer and replaced the fan in my room! Start with the core body systems and work from there. You can do this my friend, if I can do it, SO CAN YOU. Best of Luck, we're here if you need us.

I failed NCLEX, please help me :(
First thing you should do is look up your state's required waiting time to retake the exam. From there I would take a day off, recooperate, and use that day to ouline your attack on the next attempt! You should find all this info on your states Board of Nursing website where you applied for your ATT, and goodluck What materials did you study with? How many questions did you do?

Florida NCLEX RN Test Takers
So I took my NCLEX last Thursday at 8:00AM. Closed off at 75 questions and got the good pop up. I can either purchase quick results now, or wait for http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/ to get off their orifices and do something. For all you Floridian RNs, how long did you have to wait? I'm hearing people getting results as soon as 24hrs even on weekends, and this is starting to tick me off

Yea, I waited for the "Successfully delivered". LOL I was so anxious I kept refreshing my browser every 5 seconds waiting for it. Finally I gave up and took an hour long hike around campus. Came back and got the good news After a few questions when I saw the first SATA i got so excited because I knew I was doing something right, there was even a time where I would get a SATA followed by another SATA, double woots haha!

Hey everyone! New to the site Just took my NCLEX at 8am bright and early today Closed out in 75 questions, got a few select all that apply (maybe like 8-10), some easy math, some meds, and a lot of who will you see first I'm checking some of the questions I felt iffy on, and realized that I got them right. Did the Pearson Vue trick and got the good pop up! The scary thing was it took me no less than 45 minutes to complete the test.... not to be arrogant at all or condescending, but it was actually very easy. When I saw the SATA i knew i was in the passing range and didn't ruminate on the questions very long. For me either you know it instantly, or you take a moment to work it out. I guess that's all that Kaplan was good for... I barely even used the decision tree.
