  1. Pulmonary embolism is exactly what I thought too b/c pnemothorax was not an answer and no this is not a homework assignment. I was taking a test for a job but I have to take the med/surg. test in order to work in corrections. And since I missed it, I THOUGHT I would ask fellow nurses, what they thought but forgive me for asking. Since I have worked mostly geriatrics the last several years. I am trying to get back into something different is all. Maybe I will just stick to the old folks, though. Thank you to those who tried to help me anyway.
  2. Do you do well in psych? Maybe that is just where you are suppose to be in nursing. If not then maybe think about going back to school in a different career catagory. Maybe you weren't meant to be a nurse but a secretary or lawyer or well you get the point. The one thing going for you is that you can honestly say "I am a crappy nurse and have never been good at it in the last 8 yrs." it takes a mighty big person to say that. Good luck in whatever endeaver you take.
  3. From what I have heard inferno is right stay away from them...you'll be doing good if you get paid from them...was going to go to work with them also but while they had me taking some crap test that there were no study guide or answer sheet for and it made no sense b/c it all was related to how their agency worked so there was no way of knowing what the answers were for 4-5 hours then when I finally got frustrated enough and walked out my husband was waiting for me in the reception area and told me on our way out that they were dealing with a nurse on the phone about getting paid. I decided to forget it. Working is hard enough without having to fight with them to get paid too. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
  4. Pt. suddenly c/o pain in rt. side around their rib cage. You also note the pt. having dyspnea, absent breath sounds on the rt. side et little movement of the chest wall. Pt.s symptoms are MOST likely associated with what?
  5. I have been out of circulation for a while and need a refresher....what lab values should improve after dialysis?
