  1. Our hospital is applying to be a Critical Care Access Hospital. I was wondering if any of you out there work at one and could tell me more about it. What changes have been made? Layoffs? Pt Census? Staff to pt ratios? Thanks, Erin
  2. Hi, At my hospital when an employed LPN gets her RN. She does not retain any of her seniority. Keeps her vacation and sick time. But then for unit and hospital seniority she is back at the bottom of the totem pole. It just seems so unfair. Our union wants to address this issue on the next contract. So I was hoping people out there have dealt with this issue and have some ideas to share. I have heard that some facilities give you one year or RN seniority for every 2 years as an LPN. What is the practice at your facility? Thank you in advance.
  3. I haven't had any but my coworker has: *Pt made a complaint about him not wiping her bottom good enough. Mind you she came from Home and was to be discharged home and could have physically done it herself. *Flushing the pt's room Toilet loud during the night. Did they expect us to not flush that stuff down?
  4. Hi, When I call into work they ask what's wrong and they right it down in my record. They say they have to ask in case it is something contagious. Also, depending on the supervisor, when someone ask her why so and so called in she will tell them why. Is this illegal for them to do? My nurse manager keeps track of the number of sick calls. We do get talked to about this if they think we have too many. Sometimes reprimand. Thanks, Erin
