  1. Currently I am located in Largo Florida. And current choice of school is CNA first with UMA (Ultimate Medical Academy) Then I believe SPC (St. Pete College) has a decent program. And yes you personally has made my dreams seem more realistic and has given much hope!
  2. Hello everyone! Names Charlie and this is my issue/questions/concerns/opinions I'm living in Florida and currently in the process of the PTI program for a Class B misdemeanor (Petit theft) My story is riddled with stupidity... but when I was 19 (Now I'm 20) Stole a 4 dollar lighter from a popular novelty shop in the mall. It wasn't a mistake but rather a very stupid choice and lack of proper judgement that may and will hinder my future choices and aspirations in life. It is my FIRST and shall be my ONLY offense... I have since gotten that good 'ol life wake up call. I first wanted to become a Nurse in HS. And especially after watching my Mother fight a 3 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. It was sitting bedside and interacting with those who cared for her that I really thought about it being something I could do. But only recently taken any stride in the goal after the repeated (Healthcare soon to grow! which seems might be rubbish or the ship had sailed leaving those late N lazy on the island) I'm in the process to go to Ultimate Medical Academy for my CNA which hopefully will be the window to the closed door I'm seeking (Job Employment) I've talked to a few people around my area in Hospitals and Nursing homes. I've even been able to talk to someone who works with hiring for a large Hospital by me who I was very candid told the entire story and she stated it may take time but it isn't a nail to the coffin. (Perhaps just duct tape?) So I look to is with people in my situation or alike who have good advice. I want to become a (RN) and with college $ I have to be in the state of Florida for school. From what I hear Florida is a B**** (excuse the language) for not only School/Licensing/Employment. So I expect I have a rather large uphill battle. I've read extensively the past Year on this forum about Triumphs and Despair of both good and negative responses/opinions. I firmly don't believe my arrest record and soon to be dismissed case will keep me from being a CNA. But I don't know about becoming Licensed RN really about WORKING as an RN. So anyone can reply or no one. What I'm looking for is positive remarks or "Get up go home speeches" whatever anyone is wishing to contribute. I would like to move out of Florida once I do finish school to Practice. But since I have 4+ years ahead of me school wise can't speculate where just yet.
  3. I'd like to say congratulations! Without seeming like a creep! I've followed your story for quite some time always finding your achievements to be a boost in Moral. FLmomof5 congrats on having everything "Official!" :w00t:
