  1. Hey Hmmc4 You know I still don't know who you are!!!! lol I am assuming that you are in class with me and i have asked a few about this blog and I have had no luck! I sit in the row in the middle on the second to last table in front of John. By the way what do you think about the bathing lab on Monday? I am a bit put of by it, the class is so cold i think if i wear shorts and a t-shirt I will get a case of pneumonia! I wonder if Praying01 did this already and how it went for her?
  2. Hey Hmmc4! Have you started the financial aid process yet? I met with them on monday and they are supper quick and nice. You need your W2, Tax return, Highschool Diploma and your Fafsa. I wonder how long it will take for it to kick in? I hope to see you on Friday on 9:00 am sharp!!!!
  3. Hey guys just got back from mc after and I picked up the book list and finally sat with financial aid! The supplies for core and block one from the bookstore will be $473.68. This is including one set of uniforms and prizes vary by size. You can't try on the uniforms before which sucks! Shirts are $22.87 and pants are $15.25 that's for the two biggest sizes 3x and 2x. I don't know if they run small or large so ....... Anyways uniforms are not used until the begining of block one so regular clothes for core which is 4 weeks. The books may change again so I suggest not purchasing books until later in October. Financial aid: They are not meeting with anyone of the November class until mid October! She would Not even take any paperwork from me until then. :/ I'm going to go back on October 13 to turn in my required paperwork and visit the bookstore once again. :)
  4. I just realized that we will have about 5 weeks for school this year! I guess next year will be really hectic. Has anyone looked at the calendar? Does anyone have a visual of what the uniforms look like? I have so many questions that I'm going to make a list.
  5. Hey guys, we get cancelled in the hospital I work but we get paid with PTO. Is there a way for you guys to find a place where they offer this benefit?
  6. Thank yuo for your service and sorry about your back, my husband came out from the army with 3 herniated discs and he had surgery for one of them just 6 month ago and is doing much better. You can try working in a Nursery or a NICU. there is lifting but your patients are no more than 20 lbs :) And it can be stresfull especially since babies crash and code in seconds.
  7. julchaRe: McFatter LPN Program Anybody still have their teas V study guide. I'm planning to take the test in october and start in the program in January. Please let me know. Thanks! I have mine but I wrote all over it. Focus on Chem and Bio it's pretty easy if you were a good student.
  8. Hey guys!!! Work has been crazy!! People are having more babies than last year and over time is pretty much being forced. Anywho I went to Financial aid this Friday and they told me to come back in mid October!!!! Hmmc4 I don't think they will be ready for our class untli atleast then because the lady seemed overwhelmed. When I went there the bookstore was actually closed so it was a waste of gas going there. I will probably stop by sometime next week to get the supply list because financial aid is making me worried. I wonder why they are so far behind? November is around the corner I hope we get aid in time.
  9. My BLS expires this december, I spoke to Diana and she said it's up to me. I'm probably going to do it before the program. Im more worried about the financial aid, no one has called me back and Mrs. Williams said that financial aid needs high school transcripts ?! I already have an AA so I was a bit put off. I'm making a trip to the school on Tuesday to see about books and financial aid. I can't believe time is passing so fast! November is around the corner!
  10. Congratulations!!!!! I also got my letter yesterday and I flipped!! I will be attending the November full time days! Will you be attending orientation on the 21st of October? I am soooo happy! I am going to go the the bookstore next week to see which books we will be needing and to deal with financial aid. I wonder how the previous group is doing?
  11. In my opinion and experience with dealing with the PPD skin test, you should NOT test again! I work for a hospital and our procedure mandates that after a positive result the chest x-ray is done wich is good for 2 years according to the CDC. If the X-ray is negative then no medication is administered. Between x-rays a questionaire is done to make sure no symptoms have risen to indicate infection. People that have recieved the BCG vaccine at a later point in life show a more severe reaction to the tb skin test. I have gotten BCG 3 times (its a long ridiculous story) and my reaction to the test three years ago was instant, with painful blistering so bad that my husband turned the car around to go back to the hospital for some medicine. I had a huge mark on my arm for 3-4 months. I work in a NICU and my boss is very addamant about the tb testing for me and only requests an xray every 2 years if there are signs. There are also blood test that can be run that would be more conclusive than the skin test.
  12. Hey there! I just read the thread and I am in a similar position as you both. I applied to McFatter for fulltime evenings for this August term. I called on Tuesday and they said that I was 7th down the list. I cannot wait to get a letter or a call. Hopefully some of the people infront of me have made other plans because I am ready to finish this! Anyway, I was wondering if all goes well, we should form a study group or something to aid us in or scholastic journey. From what I have read having a study group increases the chances of making it through. Hope to see you at school!!!!!!!
