LATTC is a pretty tough school. They make you work for it. Most people can't work through the program because the schedule fluctuates often and study time is a must. The schedule definitely varies every semester. Courses are 8 weeks long. First semester you're typically there every week day. After that it typically consists of 1-2 theory days a week and one day of clinicals, usually 12 hrs with a few exceptions along the way that are only 8 hours. Then a weekly simulation course. So minimum is about 3 days a week. Then ATI at the end of each course. Clinical sites are Kaiser Sunset, Kaiser West LA, Olympia, California Hosp, White Memorial and Exodus for psych.

Exodus is the mental health facility and it is called Exodus recovery. The sites are located in Culver City and East Los Angeles. Students may also go to some of the Exodus Urgent Care sites around Los Angeles.

Right there with you, wish my GPA were higher.

I really wanted to post this in the CA nursing programs for more responses.

So I am currently re-taking pre-reqs and applying to other schools. So since my grades were not so stellar the first time, I decided that I would apply to a wait list school and wait while working to improve my academic standing. I wanted to know if there is anyone who was admitted from the waitlist recently and how long it took? I have heard a lot of different numbers but just curious about the average time. I applied for the first time in Fall 2011.

The number I heard for people was around 60, but that was based on the people attending the essay and TEAS test. It is definitely not as high as the numbers at San Diego which makes the chance of getting in higher. The middle of March is coming up soon, so I can only hope that its sooner rather than later. Did anyone apply to any other programs?

Welcome! Nice to have someone else to talk to and wait with. When I checked on the website it said 20 to each cohort. Do they factor in Accelerated versus Generic BSN?? It would be great if it were more. I'm hoping when they say mid March they mean it and don't get too delayed on acceptances/denials. My science GPA is below a 3.0 so I will definitely reconsider re-taking courses if I don't survive this round. And I got an A in the Stats class.

I was really hoping we have other responses by now so that we could get some other perspectives and responses.

My science GPA isn't as high as I would like it to be. Well, at least it is March so we know the results should be out this month since orientation is in April. Is there any way to check the application status on the NU website?
