Hi. No, I'm starting in the Fall as well. I found this forum because I was searching for what book to buy for Advanced Patho. I am out of state (MS) and I'm worried about being completely in the dark. I have alot of questions about tons of stuff, but still haven't been contacted by my advisor!

What text was used for the advanced patho class? I also would like to know the tuition per credit hour.

I am doing Pediatric Acute/Continuing care.

NurseNatashaRN, I transferred from Adult Detox Rehab/ Med Surg into pediatrics, and the transition was beautiful. It took some getting used to- adjusting to the smaller dosages of medication and the bedside manner, but it was worth it. Pediatric Nursing is a totally different dynamic- In a good way. Just wanted to let you know that yes- it can be done! I work at a hospital. Anyone will train you- you just have to be willing to make the transition!

I just found this forum tonight and any help would be greatly appreciated. Got accepted last week to the Pediatric Acute/Continuing care specialty track. I live in MS. Any other MS people on here? I faxed the agreement forms and the notarized copy of my BLS, PALS and nursing license (so hectic due to the "misprinted" fax number) but I did not get a confirmation. When I called to ask if I could confirm that it reached them, she said NO! She said there was no way that they could confirm that they recieved my faxes unless I emailed Mr. Jamison directly and I quote "he is very busy and will probably not respond"! Did anyone else face this problem? AND- when I try to sign up for my Blazernet ID, It states that I'm not in the system. I'm frustrated and feel as if the school is not being attentive to my needs. Also, does anyone know the exact text to order for advanced patho? I would love to get to know any classmates that were accepted into this specialty, so feel free to contact me!
