    Charity's HESI sections?

    Congrats!

    Charity SON Fall 2012

I'm looking for pointers myself. LOL. I have never taken A&P at Delgado before but so far it seems like you have to devote more time to the online class than an on-campus class. I would recommend using flash cards and reviewing your notes daily. For me A&P is basically a LOT of memorization so you have to do what works for you. You definitely don't want to get behind because we go through way too much material. I am doing something with A&P each day. Whether it be homework, watching the online lectures, or just reviewing my notes. HTH!

    Charity SON Fall 2012

@NolaRN2B Are you taking A&P I or II? I am taking A&P II. I take the lab on Tuesday nights. I would definitely like to do a study group for all of the tests. I am hoping to get an A also!

Hesi A2 Test Prep :Chemistry and Biology

Yes, that's it... I think the biology section is way better in this one.

    Charity SON Fall 2012

@Ashley2000 Since you are taking the test tomorrow I would pretty much say if you don't know it by now, you probably won't know it by tomorrow. I would just make sure that I was familiar with the Biology/A&P sections of the McGraw Hill and Evolve study guides. Google "HESI A2" vocabulary and you should be able to find some quizzlets with practice questions. At this point I would just do practice tests and make sure to get some sleep tonight. And definitely eat breakfast in the A.M. @PHI823 Thanks! I think many people do actually fail or barely pass. The only way I can imagine that happening is if maybe you hadn't finished your science courses before taking the exam. There are so many sections on the exam that I can't imagine a person struggling with all of them. Seems like if the Biology brings your score down, then maybe you would do well on the Grammar, or Vocabulary, or Math to bring your grade back up. Especially since Charity only cares about the cummulative score. But, maybe some people struggle with all of the sections.

    Charity SON Fall 2012

Congrats on the HESI and that profile score! You shouldn't have any trouble getting in with a 75. I too was surprised by my score on the HESI. I was so afraid that it was going to be this killer test! I actually ended up with a 92.3% overall. I got an 820 on the Critical Thinking part. Are you planning to apply to any other schools? I am thinking about the LSU CARE program but my first choice is Charity. Good Luck! Hopefully we'll meet in Fall 2012. I don't know what I'm going to do until we find out in April... I may just take a random class to occupy my mind. BTW, When are you going to submit your application? I think I'm going to start gathering my transcripts in September and probably submit my application by October. I didn't want to send my application too early since the deadline is all the way in December.

    Charity SON Fall 2012

Hello Everyone! I know I'm early but I'm super excited to begin nursing school. I was wondering if anyone else here is planning to apply to Charity for Fall 2012? Are you done with your prereqs? Taken the HESI? What's your profile score? I have taken all of my prereqs but it has been 6 years since I took A&P II lecture/lab so I'm taking it now at Delgado. I'm taking the lecture online and I go on campus for the lab. We have only done one exercise in lab so far and I already feel like its not going to be very easy. I took the HESI on Monday and I did pretty well so I'm done with that thank God! I calculated my profile score and if I get an A in the A&P lecture I'll have 70 points. If I get a B or C, I'll have 65 points. I'm super nervous because when I talked to the admissions lady at Charity she told me the cut off tends to be a bit higher for the Fall semester than the Spring. From reading the forum, it looks like the cut off for Spring 2012 was around a 55 so I'm worried that the cut off for Fall will be like 75! Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet some of my future classmates!

Hesi A2 Test Prep :Chemistry and Biology

i didn't have to take the chemistry part but i did take the biology part. like you, i haven't taken a biology course in years. i used the mcgraw hill and the evolve study guides and i would say every biology question on the test was in one of those 2 study guides. i ended up with a 96% on the biology section. it definitely was not that bad. i went through the the evolve study guide and created my own notes, then i read and highlighted the mcgraw hill guide, then i went back over the notes i created and the highlighted parts of my mcgraw hill book and that was all i needed. hth! good luck!

Took my HESI A2 this morning!

Thanks everyone! @thehopeful No, I don't remember any of the specific questions. I am so horrible with that. It's like I take a test then I block everything from my mind. I would just recommend that you are very familiar with all of the concepts in the Evolve study guide as well as the one by McGraw Hill. No need to bring out your old notes or textbook. @kgurien Don't study too hard tonight. The best thing you can do is get some good sleep. By the time I finished the test I was brain dead. It took me about 3 hours to do all of those sections plus the critical thinking part. MAke sure you let us know how you do. Good luck!

A&P Section on the HESI A2... how in depth do I need to go?

I took the HESI yesterday and although I did worse on the A&P section than any of the others, I would suggest using the Evolve study guide as well as the one by McGraw Hill. I personally think the material is presented very well in the McGraw Hill study guide. I used the evolve study guide to make my own notes then I studied the McGraw Hill guide and then I went back over my notes. I scored 96% on the biology section and 80% on A&P and its been 10 years since I took biology and 6 years since I took A&P. That study guide you posted above looks like it covers all of the basic information but you still have to look everything up in a textbook/online and make your own study guide from it. Good luck!

HESI A2 exam in the morning!

@bbroge143 Thank you! You will do fine, don't worry. I was really worried about the test because it has been 10 years since I took biology and 6 years since I last took A&P but it really wasn't that bad. I think the hardest part for most people is the math section, which really wasn't that hard. You just have to make sure you can do every single problem in the book by hand. There is a calculator on the test but if you don't know how to do the problems manually you still won't do well. The A&P section was the most difficult for me. To study for that I would just recommend using the Evolve study guide and the one by McGraw Hill. It's really not that much information so if you study well you will be prepared. I've seen a lot of people saying that they reviewed their old A&P notes to help study for the test but IMO that is just a bit overwhelming. Especially if you took the class 6 years ago. Good luck!

HESI A2 exam in the morning!

I took the Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary and General Knowledge, Biology, A&P, and Math sections. I used the evolve study guide as well as the one by McGraw Hill. The one by McGraw Hill was good for the Biology/A&P section but I used the evolve one for everything else. Overall, the test was not that bad at all. I actually feel like I overstudied. "Floridatrail2006" posted some very useful information on this website: https://sites.google.com/site/apinnerworkings/. I made my own studied guides for Bio/A&P using the material presented in the study guides. I would recommend that you know how to do all of the math problems by hand and also know the conversions. You will do fine! Good Luck!

Took my HESI A2 this morning!

Hello everyone! I took my exam this morning and I must say that it wasn't that bad. I got a 92.33% overall and this was my first time taking it. To prepare for the exam I used the evolve study guide as well as the mcgraw hill study guide. I used the mcgraw hill guide for the Biology section only and I studied the other sections from the evolve study guide. I took A&P 6 years ago. Please note: The math section DOES have a calculator. It's on the bottom right of the testing screen. I got to question 46 of 55 before I even realized a calculator was there. I did all of those problems by hand! Anyway, for anyone who cares to know, my scores are below. Good luck to everyone still waiting to take the exam! Reading Comprehension: 92% Grammar: 98% Vocabulary and General Knowledge: 88% Biology: 96% A&P: 80% Math: 100%
