  1. I'm in WI also, and agree with you completely!!! My hospital is understaffed and are on a hiring freeze. We have new RN grads leaving because there are no RN positions for them to advance to (from LPN). Sorry, I don't have any NY info - but am curious to see what everyone else has to say. Good luck
  2. I was required to be certified CNA before clinicals. The course was offered at my school (a votec). 8 week course, 1st week was classroom learning:ADL's, vitals, transfers ect). The rest of the course was spent as clinicals in a nursing home. Your Director of Nursing should have the info you need. Good luck!
  3. 2 front bottom pockets - (pockets are very necessary) with slit sides (they're not so tight across your bottom) If you need a jacket - I just saw a new one come out with 3/4 sleeves. Seems like a good idea to me, long enough to keep your arms warm but short enough to stay out of the way.
